The challenge for this card...which was due the end of July!, is by Kerry who wanted everyone to use a robin, holly, and an optional mailbox on the card. I think I got it covered!! I really have fun playing along with the challenges but it seems that I have good intentions to get them done but allow myself to be distracted!
My distraction this week is that I will be leaving Thursday to go to Virginia to help take care of my 30 month old granddaughter while her Momma and Daddy go to the hospital to bring her new sister home. My son called to day and said that the doctor told them that she wouldn't make it to her next doctors appointment on 6 September because she ready to pop!! We had planned on going out the 10 September but this works out better for us because we will be there about 2 weeks and then we will come home and get ready to go to Spain for just over 3 weeks! YAY!
I am so looking forward to the cooler weather because it has been over a 100 deg F, 39C, most every day since last June! Someone asked about my electric bill the other day since we have to run air conditioning constantly and it has cost about $130 a week or >$550 a month.
Hope everyone has a good week and I will try to log online every chance I get.

ReplyDeleteGreat card and congrats on the soon-to-arrive arrival!
ReplyDeleteWow, I thought my 200$ electric bill was expensive! I have not started any Christmas Cards yet. Soon I'm going to do some Halloween ones and then I will start the Christmas ones after that! Happy WOYWW!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fab card Vicki. My new stamp would have been perfect for that challenge but there’s not time for me to join in now……never mind.
ReplyDeleteHope everything goes well with the arrival of the new baby, I bet everyone is getting so excited.
Have a good week and…………
Happy babysitting!

ReplyDeleteCongrats Gran/granny /nana ...which are you?? ...have fun with your other GD xx
You've done a wonderful job on your card. Good luck with the new bundle of joy and your upcoming holiday - sounds wonderful! Hope the heat eases for you soon. I live in Southern Ontario and we are having the same weather. Should be getting cooler soon with fall coming.
ReplyDeleteHi, I love the beautiful work you've done on this card. I live outside Richmond and we have been having wonderful cool, dry weather since the hurricane came through. Many places still do not have electricity. I hope your son's home does. We just got it back today. Without it, our well does not work, so for 4 days it has been like camping out in the house.
ReplyDeleteLovely and festive card ... I know you're fed up with the high temperatures but since we've had hardly any summer here and it's been mostly about 55F for months and now dropping fast, I'll willingly trade with you to feel warm in my bones! Hope all goes well with the arrival of the little one, and that you have a wonderful holiday.
ReplyDeleteOooh what exciting news, your new little grandbaby is coming early! Im sure you will have the most wonderful time!
ReplyDeleteI love your card and am impressed you were one of the few that managed to incorporate all three elements of the challenge!
You're so inspirational as Id have never imagined that bird and branch would look so good on a xmas card! Love the rich warm tones youve chosen too.
Have a fab trip Vickie!

ReplyDeleteChristmas is out of my thoughts at the moment (too early to think about) But I love the card you made

Air con is so expensive - luckily (or not) we don't need it here as it never gets that hot. Well, you are having a busy time of it and welcoming a new baby into the family as well. Such an exciting time for you all. Hope the birth goes well.
ReplyDeleteLovely card, very festive and you managed to get all the elements included. Love the ribbon bow you added. Thanks for the good wishes and thanks for the news. Hugs, Neet x
