So on to why we are here...to see my desk this week! If you would like to participate in this weekly desk exposures you need to head over to Julia's blog Stamping Ground and check out the other blogs this week.
My desk is currently occupied by a project in the works. I am working on a chipboard book made from toilet paper roll cores. I am using the Graphic 45 papers for Christmas this year called Nutcracker Sweet. I saw the idea on a You Tube video by Jacqui Chimes and My Creative Spirit, Charlie Jones |
I hope everyone is settling in now that the holidays are over and getting on with their crafty lives. I look forward to hopping around to the blogs and seeing what everyone is up to!
Happy WOYWW. Loving the toilet roll book. Will go and check out the YouTube links - I have a small collection of tags that I would like to display together, and this could be a good way of doing that. I agree with you re. time. I am watching less tv, but my new computer is taking up a lot of my time - and I just don't get as much 'real' crafting done as I used to. I try not to worry about that too much, as having the study to do, as well as a lot more in my life, whilst coping with a body that seems to enjoy throwing problems at me, is more than enough for 'little old me'. ReplyDeleteWhat a great looking book! I too spend so much time with TV and the computer.. at least I can craft in front of the tv, but...!! Have a good week Helen #7
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of creating such a gorgeous book from a humble toilet roll. Will have to check out that video. You are getting far more done crafty wise than me and I don't even have TV as an excuse. I really don't know why I don't get more done. Maybe that should be a New Years Resolution.. to be more productive!!

I'm another who spends too much time in front of various screens but its my new year resolution to do more. Rafting, and I think that is one of the easier ones to keep.
ReplyDeleteGreat little tag album as well.

Looks fab, I too have seen this idea of using toilet rolls and it's a great way to recycle! My nieces who are 5 and 10 thought it was super cool when I told them about it! I must make some. Take care Zo xx 43
ReplyDeleteBeautiful book - not taken the plunge on a loo roll book YET, but every time I see one I am tempted. How did we ever survive before YouTube? :)

Your book is looking lovely Vickie can't wait to see it finished. I made a decision to try and get more don crafting wise and spend less time on laptop etc. I have done quite a lot this week but could do better. Trouble is am shattered at night and really just ant to sit on sofa and do very little. Happy WOYWW Anne # 135

Vickie sorry for the late visit, loving your tag book. Isn't fair when life gets in the way of blogging! LOL.
ReplyDeleteHappy crafting, hugs Erika.
Your book is amazing. I can't believe it's made if toilet roll centres. Incredible. Thank you so much for visiting; I will be making my skull glitter, although it won't be finished anytime soon!
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Rachel
ooh your book is stunning! I must have a go at one of these one day. My list of must do's is huge and I don't seem to get anything done! xx
ReplyDeleteHi Vickie, your album is shaping up beautifully. I like the black base and you can't go wrong with Graphic45 papers - they are all gorgeous. You could move the TV into your craft room and get the best of both worlds. As for the housework ... I just bite the bullet and spend one day a week really trying and the other days I swat at it occasionally - it works for me :)) I hope you have a good, and housework free, weekend. Elizabeth x #69
ReplyDeleteI love what you have done with those toilet paper rolls! Absolutely fabulous!
ReplyDeleteHappy very late WOYWW!
