WOW!! Wednesday again! Seems like this week has flown past a little faster then the ones that preceded it. I don't think I have been doing anything any different but... I have been busy crafting and cleaning and gardening...you get the idea. Idle hands haven't got a chance in this house cause something will come along and make them busy!
Welcome to my desk this Wednesday! There are a bunch of stamps I have taken off blocks and put in plastic boxes on the left side of the desk, right side has some cards I finished this week, check previous posts if you would like to see them. I also made a wall canvas using Tim Holtz products that you can see here! The center of the the desk is covered with a bunch of stuff I have out to do a picture frame for a class I am thinking about doing. I think I will first spray the white chip board frame with the color wash then make a collage with all the different 2"x 2" squares I can cut apart from the strips. Distress the edges and cover the whole thing over with something that give it a little 'shiny' or 'sparkly' effect. I think I might spray the whole thing over with a Perfect Pearls wash to get that shimmer effect and then bling it up with a couple flowers, some die cuts, a journaling ticket etc. Any ideas to help me out?
WOYWW is a so much fun and so addictive I really look forward to Wednesdays now! Wonder what it is all about? Visit Stamping Ground the home of Julia Dunnitt, the Queen of Snoop, and see what I am talking about. I am going to post this now so I can make a cup and sit and snoop awhile myself. Have a happy Wednesday!
Hi there, it all looks fabulously creative. You don't need much help with your frame, sounds good already!
ReplyDeleteI cannot help you with frame suggestions but yours sound great to me. :) Happy WOYWW!
ReplyDeleteOh WOW don't think i have noticed your ink pads before, what a great collection. think you have most bases covered for your frame will look forward to seeing it

Ooh I like that mannequin stencil/positive/negative/chipbaord thing. And graciosu Vickie, I don't think you need any ideas - you just gave me a whole list of ideas for me! Fantastic sight to see your ink pads like that - the rush of colour is good for my soul.
ReplyDeleteYou will do something wonderful with them I am sure. The cards below are fantastic.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, look at those ink pads! How many do you own?! I'd be no good on anything as hands-on as spraying and inking, but you seem to be making a lovely job of it. I like those strips of paper/card on your desk near the front ...
ReplyDeleteOGM looove all your inkies lined up there and I definitely need that turntable button thingie, what a good idea! HaPpy WoYwW
ReplyDeleteI am so interested in the fact that you have tken your stamps off the wooden blocks. I have done that with my very elderly John Bull Printing Set. I haven't really done anything else with them as yet as they are rather stiff and unyielding. I did try one in the microwave for a few seconds today and that seemed to loosen it up so I shall have a go with the others. Your desk is fascinating today with so many things to look at. Thank you for your visit and lovely comments.
ReplyDeleteWhat great stuff you are working on! Love your workspace too! Thanks so much for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteLove all your goodies on your desk. I am slowly taking my stamps off the blocks too. You sound like you have so many fun things lined up. I love playing with pearl mists too. I have even been making some of my own. :) Nan
ReplyDeleteBeautiful wall hanging! That frame sounds like it's going to be lovely too - I hope you post a pic when you're finished! :-)
ReplyDeleteJust such a creative work space and what I love is that everything appears to be in reach. I would love that! Your frame sounds great, hope we get to see it.
ReplyDeleteSounds as if you have loads of creative ideas already. Can't wait to see what you come up with.
ReplyDeleteHugs Mrs A.
Hi Vicki...great crafty desk this week. I've toyed with the idea of taking the stamps off their blocks but not sure how well they would sell if I decide to destash. Also not sure if the time it would take would be worth it. How do you store them?
ReplyDeleteMethinks you have way too many ink pads!! LOL Love that TH die with the sewing dummy thing... which reminds me I bought that but haven't actually used it on anything yet!!
ReplyDeleteTotally enjoyed my long snoop of your desk...curious on your little stamp storage book...you will have to show us a closer look sometime!

ReplyDeleteYou’re being extremely industrious removing all those wooden blocks from your stamps Vicki, it’s something I’ve been meaning to for ages but never seem to get around to it. Perhaps when you’ve finished yours you could pop across the pond and have a go at mine for me, what do you think?
ReplyDeleteLove the canvas you’ve made, the colours are subtle but just beautiful.
Thanks for stopping by and leaving your lovely comment this week.
They were so pleased with the quilts and the afternoon wasn’t anywhere near as emotional as I had thought it might be.
Happy Crafting!

Mmm Vickie, lots of creative thoughts floating about there you will have fun choosing! also thanks for popping over and commenting regularly on my blog you make my day! and thanks for sharing, happy WOYWW! Shaz in oz.x
ReplyDeleteif you want contorl of your shimmer put it in your wash and paint it on contrasting areas od shimmer and matte can often be more effective than an all over shimmer, so accents speak louder than coverage ??? if that makes any sense to you then I ahve to day you are a remarkable woman!
ReplyDeletethanks for calling by yesterday,
dx
control not contorl
ReplyDeleteNow that is a serious collection of ink pads. Hope you show the finished frame sounds interesting.

Umm those ink pads have me salivating! What I did after gluing down some paper scraps was to put a light layer of wall putty (gesso to you), then wash with a layer of color. I liked the effect. Patsy from

thanks for popping by earlier Vickie, yes I'm getting quite creative with short resources. The problem is that there are a few shops local that are all too appealing where i can stock up on new stash! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI have seen some of those frames decopatched, like papermache only the papers are all patterned. Let us see how you get on with your project
