Okay on to what we are here for today…WOYWW! What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday founded by Julia at Stamping Ground is a fun place to go and hop around and see other bloggers desks and what they are up to. Check it out and if you want to come play click the link and she will tell you how!
My desk today!
I got a new stamp set and die set in the mail yesterday from Stamps of Life. It is a monthly stamp club that I have belonged to for a long, long, long time and I love their clear acrylic stamps and thin dies but I haven't been so good at using them of late and I am seriously thinking about quitting the club. I am turning over a new leaf…If I am not using it I am not buying it!!
The over all picture…I am standing in the door way looking it…no wonder my husband thinks it is such a mess. I am just happy you can't see all the trash on the floor. I have been busy working at my desks and paper bits tend to not hit the trash as I toss them in the general direction. I really think someone could make a killing if they had a trashcan that just jumped up and grabbed the bits as you tossed them in the general direction!!
Today I am working on cards again for a swap on a Yahoo group called ATT-Altered Tattered and Timeworn. This card is kinda funky and fun!

This card was made using the Tim Holtz Travelways stamps, washi tape, and an ideology clip. The background paper is from DCWV. I pulled the pearls and rest of the washi out of stash. Cardstock is from Stampin UP! and Distress Inks from Ranger Ink. Card blank from the drawer…gonna use it all up eventually!
Hope everyone has a great week!
wow, you have been busy! don't buy stuff if you're not going to use it... hmmm better not look at my desk then... good mantra to have though, (and I have already used some of the new stuff ahem!) Helen #1
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely card, I like how you have tied all the images together - it looks really special.
ReplyDeleteGosh you seem to have a very busy craft room, how I would enjoy coming in and rummaging. Is that me being nosey?
Hugs, Neet 10 xx
How lovely to see you again Vickie! I've been away from the Interwebs for a while as I've been moving house so must have missed you. It's good to see you crafting away merrily and getting your desk into a mess. I agree with your mantra - having just packed up my house, it dawned on me that do we really need all this stuff?? I shall be paring down our belongings once we get in our permanent place, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteHUgs, LLJ 7 xx
Your Craft room reflects your wide paper crafting/Mixed Media interests.Would love to rummage in your room. When you do art, you Just Need Stuff!!that's all there is to it!! There speaks a former teacher who always had lots of stuff. It made me feel secure!!And Happy!
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW. Lovely to see all of the wonderful creations you have been busy with. I have not made any cards for a while - and that will have to change, as I am just going into my 'silly season' for birthdays/anniversaries - and, of course, I want to get on with Xmas stuff too. I am just wanting to do journalling/making books at the moment - annoying that other boring stuff and my health stops me sitting in my craft room all day! Ali x #19
ReplyDeleteGreat card. And I'm glad I'm joining in again this week, because yesterday while putting away some stuff I suddenly realized how much stuff I have (I think worthwile for a couple of lifetimes) but when I see other peoples workspaces i'm assured that it is not out of the ordinary for us creative people lol. Happy WOYWW Vicky #11
ReplyDeleteA wonderfully well stocked, cozy craft area! Loving those vintage papers and maps in your project. Have fun this week! zsuzsa #25
ReplyDeleteI think that craft room looks as it should - bustling with things to hand waiting to be used. Lovely cards by the way x Jackie 28
ReplyDeleteI like to say 'treasure trove', not mess! I like the Stamps of Life set youre planning to play with - but I do agree, I've become a much more careful purchaser since I realised that I wasn't keeping up in terms of usage! There just aren't enough hours are there!
ReplyDeleteI have come to the conclusion you aren't a serious crafter unless your craft room is untidy and that includes the floor.
ReplyDeleteUsed to think it was just me that was untidy until I joined WOYWW, but then I am not really untidy as I know where everything is.
This craft room is perfect! Just how it should be. Love the card too. Have a great woyww, Angela x 17
ReplyDeleteI'm sure we all know about stuff we have that we haven't use. I love kits. Apparently I love to collect them more than use them. So I don't buy them anymore. I've told myself that I must finish off 3 kits a month before I can buy anything else. It helps because it gives me time to really ponder what it is I will buy when I can. The goal is to only purchase what I will use and what I will use repeatedly. As for your room, it's looking good with so much lovely stash right there begged to be pawed through, ogled and used. Happy playing! PJ #36
ReplyDeleteHi Vickie, Loving your craft room. Fab card.
ReplyDeleteYou left your number as 5, but you are 6.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Happy WOYWW

ReplyDeleteHello Vicki. Oh I just love that little Christmas set that sits on your desk and I am trully loving the dies and matching stamps set. What is the monthy clubs name. I also here you about using what you have a organizing... My shame is mostly hidden from eyes as it lands in my crawl space and no one sees but will have to work harder on use it or loss it. LOL very hard to do. Also loving the vintage style card you have made. Thanks for visiting me earlier and have a wonderful week. Hugs ~Anne L#5
ReplyDeleteHi Vickie,
ReplyDeleteWhat a great card! I agree with you, I'm going to start doing more snail mail rather than emails. There's something to getting an envelope in the mail and seeing a person's handwriting; definitely much more enjoyable.
Sorry to hear of your friend's loss and the other in the hospital. I'm sure both cards will be loved.
Working on buyer number two for the condo. She's working on her financing - keep your fingers crossed!
Hugs,
Kay
Oooh - gotta love a couple of Tim Holtz stamps.... lovely card, Vickie!

Great cards for your friends I'm sure they will love them. Have a great week happy woyww hugs Nikki 3
ReplyDeleteBelated happy WOYWW, Vickie. I think most of us have to call a halt to our spending on craft stash sometimes. I have drawers full of stamps that I haven't used yet so I've stopped buying until I've made something with each and every one ... I could be some time :) Your cards are fabulous - I like the 'timeworn' style. Have a great weekend. Elizabeth x #41
ReplyDeleteThank you for your visit, Vickie. I have so appreciated everyone's kind words.
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.
