WOYWW #206

Not a lot going on today on my desk...Not a lot of room for anything to be going on!!  Right now the desk has become the depository for all things I have received in the mail and a shopping spree my daughter and I went on last week.

The biggest buy was these Tim Holtz carriers that we found at Tuesday Morning...an outlet store here in the states, that had been drastically reduced.  The cases were originally $35-$50 each and we paid less than that for all three.  The small case on the left is a trinket case, the middle is a tool/paint box, and the big one is a 12"x12" paper carrier.  I the middle of all this awesomeness is a package I received as unbirthday gift from a friend on Splitcoast Stamper.

I posted on Sunday some pictures of the tags I am doing in a class and thought I would share them here.  If you would like to see the detailed post click here
The theme of the class this month is Travel.  Don't you love these Tim Holtz Stamps!w3
I started my spring clean up and gardening this week by opening the swimming pool, a necessity around here in the hot Oklahoma summers.  The yard guys got my raised beds made and I started planting a few things today.  Here is a look around my back yard!

Corner of the house and my husbands cactus and yucca garden.  These are gorgeous when in bloom!

Iris that have flourished since we cut down the trees that shaded them a couple years ago.

Tritoma or Red Hot Poker.
The swimming pool in the process of being 'opened'.  I didn't cover it last year and will be pulling leaves out of it for a week!

My pride and joy!  New raised beds for vegetables!  I have planted 10 tomato plants, 4 pepper plants, and seed for squash, sunflowers, and green beans.
Pretty picture intensive this week and probably went way over the short post rule of Queen Julia but sometimes it happens especially if you are long winded as I am.  IF you would like to know who Julia is and why I am posting pictures of my desk please got to Stamping Ground and click the WOYWW link in the upper right and Julia will fill you in on the deets.  Hope you come play with us!

That's it for me...I am too tired to stay up any longer so I am off to bed for a snooze and I will be back in the morning to hop around the blogs and see what's on every one's desk!  Happy Wednesday!  Have a great week!

  1. The size of your yard is huge and those garden beds you should be proud they are awesome and you don't have to bend over to far and kill the Fybromyalga body, well some of the time. It will make gardening for you so much better. I am sure you will be enjoying the fruits of your labor soon. As for the pool, it will clean, little bit, by little bit. What a great post this week thanks for sharing I have really enjoyed the tour.

  3. Wow now that's a yard, I can imagine sitting out there crafting but then having a dip in your pool when it gets too hot. The raised beds are a fab idea and I guess it means you get to enjoy gardening with the added pain. Your bargain buys are amazing! Take care Zo xx 75

  4. Your garden is looking great and it must be pretty warm. We still don't have the weather we should have and are about a month behind. But I do have my broadbeans and lettuces out. What a great buy of Timmy stash, lucky you!. Have a good day. Fracnesca #96

  5. Happy WOYWW. Now you have got me jealous - can I come and visit?? Sunshine, a pool and all of those gorgeous plants. It is cold and windy here in the UK, and we have had a lot of rain. At least our hot tub will be installed soon (indoors!). Those raised veg beds are the sort of thing I want one day, as I cannot garden like I used to. Take it slow with the pool cleaning. Ali x #27, ps Great tags - and I love the TH storage cases

Beloved Hubby is going to be building us some raised beda, assuming that we ever get enough dry weather for him to get started! Not happening here at the moment. Have a great week, Hugs Shaz #85 xxx

  12. Hi Vicki, great pictures this week. I need to check out Tueday Mornings and see if our store has any great finds such as the ones you found. LOVE the Irises, had to dig mine up this spring as the trees have grown so much they refuse to bloom, cause of the shade. Wish we were closer I have a bucket of very dark purple Irises that need a home. I am so very green with envy over your raised flower beds!!!

  21. Those raised beds are just the thing. Wish mine looked that good. Nice shopping spree, too. And of course, I loved those tags. I'm really a big Route 66 fan, so that tag made me smile a big smile.

Are you a basketball fan? Since my beloved Lakers lost in the first round of play, I've been rooting for the Thunder. I seem to pick the wrong teams this year, though!!

  28. Tell me you are OK!! I can't shake the fear I have based on the storms from both yesterday and today. Please let me know via my blog, if you have power. PLEASE.

  29. Thank you for letting me know you are OK. Sadly, I'm not on Facebook, but I'm just glad you escaped the last three days of storms. Now I can breathe a bit easier. Could you tell how upset I was when I wrote that last message? It makes no sense now, so I hope you understood what I was trying to say.

  30. Hey, don't worry about trying to return my visit before midnight tonight, I just wanted to make sure you're okay and let you know I'm thinking of you guys. I know you live south of yesterdays tornado but was your husband out chasing it? Is he okay? I sure hope so. And hope you're both staying safe. I'm so thankful we have just been missing the worst of all these storms so far, up here, and God willing as we pray, hopefully the worst of this tornado season is over, right? Hugs! :) Deeyll
