Went to a Trade Days sale on Saturday at my local scrapbook store. Everyone is invited to bring craft supplies they don't use or want anymore and put them in the sale. Initial cost is $10 for your table space then all the profit is yours! I took a big box and a couple bags of stuff in and then I picked up a few good bargains that I thought I would stretch out on my desk and share with you today. I sold about $100 and this is only part of what I got for my $30 cause I still haven't picked up the Spellbinders.
I love travel papers and these are vintage looking and make me smile!
Awesome travel paper was in one paper pack...36 sheets of it with 3 chipboard/sticker sheets. I immediately snapped it up because of the international travel book I am going to make some day. I have lots of pictures to fill one! I like this sheet of paper that looks like a UK map!
This is the SU stamp set that looks so old and grungy was put out in 2005. I keep saying that I love grunge and Tim Holtz and I get told a lot that he invented it but all us old broads know better!
This was the free stamp and all the buttons that I got for 50¢! I thought they were really wood and metal but turns out they are resin but that is okay too for what I will be using them for!
Well that's it for what's on my word desk this week. Go check out Julia's blog, Stamping Ground, and she will tell you how to join in the fun! Hope everyone has a great week and I look forward to visiting your blog and snooping around your desk this week!
Big bowl of mussels and a tall Mason jar margarita are specialties of the house. Really yummy sea food for a landlocked state! Come visit and I will take you there!
Love your bargains! I wish they did things like that where I live, but we're sadly lacking a good crafting community.
ReplyDeleteYour husband looks pretty stylish too ;)
Happy WOYWW! #44
Book a table for next week! I'm coming over :) great shot of Chuck!!
ReplyDeleteWell done you for selling all your unwanted stash..then buying some new stuff, That's a win win situation!! That looks like a map of London to me btw...I love anything to do with maps..I find them fascinating, all those places to discover :)
Hugs, LLJ 34 xx
Great bargains you got
ReplyDeleteAlways good to clear out some stuff you no longer use or need

Decluttering seems to be a common theme. I sold a whole lot of scrap-booking gearthis week. I have given away 2 whole car lods with more to come.I'm having fewer hobbies now. It feels darn good!

How I wish we had a scrapbook store here - and what fun to buy and sell! Fantastic idea!
ReplyDeleteLovely pic of your dear hubbie :)
Happy WOYWW and have a wonderful week :)
no. 4
PS I so wish we could fill the forms online - I could have done them myself and saved poor Nick writing it all long-hand! Also, I'm sure it's easier to read on-screen - how many people have clear, legible handwriting nowadays??
Lovely papers and stamps - hubby not bad either! Happy WOYWW Cindy #59
ReplyDeleteWow look at all your goodies.. Love the stamps, have a friend who says that about stamps.. Yes lots of ideas been around the block and your set just proves it.. Love the buttons. What a classic to drink out of the mason jar and eat those mussels he looks really pleased about it..
ReplyDeleteSandy :)
That sell and buy sounds a great idea... glad you made more than you spent (I probably wouldn't!!!) Nice to see your OH too. Thanks for your visit already - not sure if I enjoyed mosaics much, it was kind of ok - I think maybe I need to give it another to... it's a bit fiddly faffy!! Helen, 5

ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous table and what a terrific haul.
ReplyDeleteWhen we were over in the States we went to a Crab Shack to celebrate a birthday and had a fabulous time. I love mussels!
Thanks for your early visit to me - I have just found time to sit and type. Hugs, Neet 18 xx
What a brilliant idea for getting rid of old stash and buying new! Wish a shop here would do that. Terrific photo of hubby. Happy WOYWW. Pam#23

Hi Vickie
ReplyDeletewhat a fantastic idea for crafters to get together and sell the stuff they no longer use or have never used and a great way of picking up some great stuff as you did, wow
Thanks for sharing your desk today, Happy WOYWW hope you have a great week

Looks like a fab feast. And the map paper - funny, I read something in the Sunday paper about wall murals and recall someone who had taken a large display (from some exhibition or another) that was a map of the local area and used it as wallpaper in their hall. It looked fabulous! Somehow I'm not sure a tiled effect of 12 x 12 squares would look as good, but maybe....
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW!

DH looks like the Kentucky Fried Chicken Man Colonel Sanders himself. I would so love to join you one day for that yummy meal, sounds like fun. Looks like you had a great day at the stall, nothing like a good bargin. Oh and I am with you on the TH grunge thing we have been around a long time and know better.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the invite.. I will...someday! And yep, that Chuck..he should be in the movies, what a classic chap! We have flea markets here along the same lines...very useful. Love the gaiety stamp. And yep, I'm one of the old broads that has a lot of pre-TH stamps that now fit the grungy criteria!
ReplyDeleteHi Vickie, looks like you got some great new toys at your trade sale - and what a great idea too! Hope I'm not too late for the ATC swap list - will drop you an email shortly. MMx #73
ReplyDeleteWow, what an awesome stash you got. Love your pic of your Hubby- handsome fella! Have a great week, hugs Shaz #118 xx

I would love to swap an ATC with you and have e-mailed you...let me know if you still have space for me! Thanks for sharing. Happy WOYWW. Caro x (#133)
ReplyDeleteFantastic goodies - and you turned a profit ;-)
ReplyDeleteHandsome hubbie, shame about the mussels, I don't like them - or oysters or whelks, will eat most other seafood though. Lobster I love. :-)
Forgot to email last week. Sending now.
Great Pictures and yes your husband is handsome! Love the cowboy hat, I lived in TX for 3 years when I was 20, I missed seeing the hats and back here in New England. janet #32
Oooh Vickie I'd love to visit!!!! I can dream. Lovely goodies you have bought to play with. Anne x #70
ReplyDeleteTrade Days - what an awesome idea! Maybe we should do that here one day. Hmmm. Good idea. My theory about mojo is it will show up when the time is right. In the mean time you'll find other things to do. I'm actually reading a book right now which means I'm torn every night - Fun Room, Family, Read. Guess those are good problems to have!! Hope you have a good week Vickie. Thanks for visiting.
ReplyDeleteHi Vicki, LOVE Joe's Crab Shack!! We go to the one in Pismo Beach (CA)but would LOVE to join you and that handsome man of YOUR at JCS.....LOL
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit and the well wishes, I really am doing fine.

wow you got some great goodies at the trade days. mo and i missed out. we have had a lot going on. i love the SU set! you were grunge before it was cool! see ya tomorrow night for our recipe class. i could go for a margarita right about now!
ReplyDeleteWhat a Great Score for only $30.00 that's a great idea for those that want to swap out for new stash Have a happy WOYWW hugs Nikki #13
ReplyDeleteHandsome man, love his ' tache! Nice haul for such a little cash! Happy WOYWW! Nan G #87
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of the selling of stuff and buying of stuff...I think you were quite restrained! Tim did not invent it,he just markets it well and made it fashionable! Thanks for the visit. Your students would be able to frame the flip it card, but it would just look like a normal card and would not be quite the same if you couldn't play with it. My ladies love anything different so we do a lot of the pull out, pop up, waterfall, never-ending, flip it type cards.
ReplyDeletehandsome 'stash. He looks right at home there. We have a Joe's here too. I think I might have to go this weekend.
ReplyDeleteWow!!! You got some really great stuff! I love old "travel" themed papers too. I don't think anyone even uses paper maps anymore, lol! Seafood and a visit sounds wonderful...I'll hold you to it if I pop around your part of the world, lol!
ReplyDeleteHappy Crafting!
Jeannie #15
That sounds like an awesome idea! Wonder if I could get something like that going up here in my area? Well, I'm glad you made some money and got some good deals. And I would love to trade ATC's with you for the WOYWW swap. :) I technically have one final left but I think its optional, so I'm probably not going to take it. Otherwise it's just pins and needles over the grades for the completed ones! lol I'll just have to keep myself distracted with the crafting, huh? My mojo wanders off at times to, usually the times when I actually have time to craft! Figures, right? Hope you're having a fab WOYWW and thanks for popping by and leaving me a comment already. My son is loving this weather...bet your handsome hubby is, too, huh? :) Deeyll
ReplyDeleteG'day Vickie
ReplyDeleteI usually don't get around for WOYWW till Friday as when Julia posts the link I am at work in the evening here in Oz. My day off isn't till Friday then but I'm home sick all this week so here I am just one day late(I couldn't type yesterday due to sore hands and why I am home!!). Thanks for stopping by my blog for WOYWW...its so hard for to me to work out a system to snoop with LOL. What an awesome idea regarding the swap and great stuff you were able to buy too!!. Love the picture of Chuck :o). As for the skin cancers I've had the same treatment three times before but this time I had a sever reaction to the hitrous oxide and got large blisters and full thickness burns...not great when you are a nurse who needs to wash their hands all the time and now can't!. I wont ever so no to treatment despite this :o)
hugs

The trade sale sounds like a fantastic idea, wish we had something like that here. You got a great haul, especially with those SU stamps.
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing what people will get rid off, I love the SU stamp set, I almost bought it when it was current but too expensive, looks like a great haul for you! Happy WOYWW Lindsay #89
ReplyDeleteVikkie, I sent you an email, from maxammade@hotmail!
ReplyDeleteGinny
What a fab haul you got from your trade sale. I have the same Gaity girl stamp you got for free. Great picture of your DH, especially the Margarita. Have a good week. Francesca #85
ReplyDeleteI only wish we had something like that here! you really scored both with the selling and buying!!
ReplyDeleteYou should totally send in some stuff for publication. You makebeautiful things! I live in New Jersey so the mag will be in your craft store. If you get the magazine "The Stampers sampler" or "Take Ten" in the back it will tell you the calls and the due dates and guidelines. Or, go to www.stampington.com and you can find the info there.
Nice picture of your husband!!
Hope you are doing well. I'm holding up OK.
xxDaniella#83
Happy woyww. great looking desk, I really like the new papers.
ReplyDeleteIt would be great to swap ATC's
ill try and email you in the next few days x Mark
Your new stash looks great. I love the grungy old stampin up stamps x.
ReplyDeleteThe trade sale sounds like a lot of fun! I definitely would've gone for the TH paper and the map/travel paper -- good stuff!! Hope you're having a good week. Happy WOYWW! ~ Laura #106 (http://bookworm.typepad.com/)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lot of great bargains you got at the sale - have fun with all your new stash!
ReplyDeleteBernice #126
Hi Vickie, that's a great bunch of bargains you managed to scoop up and, having sold off a fair amount of stash, you've already made room for it too :) Love the travel paper ... can't resist maps! And how nice to find a set of SU stamps and they are definitely BTH (before Tim Holtz) grungy :)
ReplyDeleteChuck sure is a fine looking man and the crab shack sounds great fun, though drinking out of a mason jar would definitely be a new experience ... thanks for the invitation which I will be happy to take up if I ever make the trip :))
Have a great week. Elizabeth x #53
PS: the great weather has gone, we're back to blustery showers and it's cold enough to call for central heating again!
Thanks for stopping by - happy WOYWW - Mxx #56
ReplyDeleteI know it's Friday and I'm just now getting around to visit. I am so behind these days. I can't seem to get back on track for anything. Hope your doing well. Love the photo of your husband.
ReplyDeleteHappy Very Belated WOYWW. I tried to comment on here on Wednesday, but my computer said no!! Margarita - used to be my favourite drink, and I can taste one now. I can not have alcohol now though. I seem to have a long list of things I cannot enjoy now. On International Fibro Awareness Day, damn this horrible condition!! Ali x #25
ReplyDeleteOh I love the idea of the sale, wish they would do it over here (I saw one once but then it never happened again...we all have SO much stash I am sure sales would be over subscribed!!).
ReplyDeletePhoto of DH is lovely....I espeically like the jar of booze!!! (complete with sugared rim...I need to try this).
Thanks for visiting my WOYWW already
kyla
Hi Vickie,
ReplyDeleteI have relatives in your neck of the woods - Midwest City, for one. Heavner, and I'm sure some other little towns in OK. The Crab Shack sounds wonderful so I'll definitely call you if I ever make it out that way.
Oh, my health has been kind of pissy lately. Might have to make some tough decisions in the near future.
What a cool idea to have a sale of your unwanted supplies. You scored HUGE too! Love that old SU set and the map papers are beautiful!
Thanks for visiting me already. I knew it wouldn't be before Saturday that I'd get a chance to visit people but here it is Sunday already!
Happy WOYWW
