Tuesday, July 10, 2012 and WOYWW #162

Today started off as a travel day heading back south and home.  We decided to visit friends along the way and stopped first and visited with some dear friends for almost the past 40 years.  They live in Fort Collins, Colorado and both are retired.

John has recently retired from being a meteorologist/forecaster with the government and graduated this spring with a degree in psychology.  Freda is a mixed media artist and does some of the most fantastic detailed work.
After leaving Fort Collins we headed east to Wray, Colorado then south into Kansas.  We stopped over night in Goodland, Kansas and visited with friends again.  I posted a picture of Al and Pam when we were headed north but tonight Al, Pam, and Dave Floyd had supper with us at Shiraz a trendy steakhouse in Goodland.

Tomorrow we will continue our southern journey to Dodge City, KS and hopefully will be able to visit with some more friends of ours.  

Sorry WOYWWers I don't have a desk to share with you this week due to travels etc.  When I get home I will get busy and I promise to share next week.   What is WOYWW?  Click here and visit with Julia, she'll tell you all about it.  
 Here is a little something I have been working on on the road and hopefully will get finished soon.  I decided since this is for the Summer of Color ice cream flavors challenge I wanted to make her hair look like an ice cream swirl but haven't gotten that far yet.  Soon!

Here it is with the purple hair.  I have some ideas as to what I want to do but my paints and stamps are at home so will finish it when I get home.  
Everyone have a great week and I will be making rounds late in the week due to travel.

    Oh yes! The colors of ice cream. That still makes me giggle. I like your purple haired lady. I used to think purple hair would be fun but it turns out you have to dye it all the time as it washes out quick. I just can't cotton to mussing with one's hair more than twice a year (my hairdresser, bless her soul, can attest to this).

    I came, I read, I commented, my computer crashed. Got the dreaded BLUE screen. Meltdown. Can't remember much about what I said because it was over three hours ago, but I know I liked the hair (both yours and the gal for the Summer of Color). Happy WOYWW from # 1.
