Last post of our fantastic adventure vacation. I find ending a vacation/storm chase to be both sad and a happy event at the same time. I am sad to leave the travel and miss not having seen some things we could go to see but I also look forward to getting home. We only had intentions of stopping one more time for a short time to visit with some friends in Dodge City, Kansas home of the famous cattle drives and Boot Hill! If you have never been there it is worth the visit.
Jim and Carolyn met with us at the Bella Italia were we had lunch and visited with Carolyn while Jim took himself off to the doctors for a wellness check up and then came back for a visit.
It was a lot of fun visiting with them and parting time came way too soon and by 4:30 we were on the road again heading south to Oklahoma and home.
Since we have been home I have spent the past couple of days trying to get caught up on things that needed done. Laundry, vacuuming, plant and pool work, and getting back in the good graces of the fur babies who weren't to happy to see us gone. I went yesterday with Heather and got a much needed pedicure and lunch at Pei Wei. I love Chinese food but Chuck doesn't particularly care for the Americanized version and rarely goes out to eat it with me so it has become a Heather and I thing to do.
I promise to keep updating the blog more frequently then I did before vacation and find some interesting things to post about around here. Until then...
Hi Vickie,
ReplyDeleteWelcome home! I really enjoyed reading and seeing the places that you went to. It looks like you had a great visit with your friends! I imagine if they ran the cattle down the middle of town that would be an even to see! How fun.
I've been kind of MIA myself -- health issues this past week and I didn't join in on the WOYWW fun. I dug out my paints this weekend and made a mixed media canvas so that helped my spirits.
Hugs,
Kay
What a wonderful trip you have had and so many wonderful memories to keep. It must have been amazing seeing what you saw and to meet up with old friends too.
ReplyDeleteYou both look so happy ...thanks for sharing your vacation.xx
Hi there I've enjoyed being on vacation with you via all your wonderful photographs and comments. Hope you have managed to get caught up with things at home. Like you said I enjoy being away but enjoy coming home as well, though find it hard to settle down straightaway. Look forward to seeing some more of your talented work. Anne x
