It has not been a good week for me so I have immersed myself in to crafts in order to cope with it! I went last Wednesday and had the MRI and nothing showed up so now I am being referred to a neurologist in Oklahoma City for a workup. My doctor says he has done as much as he knows how to do and he feels I would benefit from a referral...okay I am game because I am still clueless as to why I lose balance, have a lot of pain, have memory loss etc. They diagnosed me with an auto-immune disorder (?What kind?) with fibromyalgia and then told me (more or less) to learn to live with it...okay, but why does something new show up every other week? Sorry I don't mean to be such a Grinch but I am so tired of all of this!
This is what my desk looks like this Wednesday and I am still working on getting the room straightened away. I do a little bit every day but when I get in there crafting it is like taking one step forward and 2 steps back some days. I love my room but I have amassed such a stash that I need more room to store stuff like the pieces of wood, chipboard 3-D's etc.and this room just doesn't have closet space or shelving to do that. God forbid I get rid of some of it I may need it next year!
This next picture is of what I am actually working on tonight. It is a can that my husbands Scotch Whiskey came packaged in. I hate to throw it away so I thought it would make an excellent gift container to give away! Chuck had 8 of these jewels stashed back in his office so when he went to cleaning I grabbed them out of the recycle bin. I will get it finished tomorrow or the next day so check back to see what it looks like finished!
I had a lot of fun with the ladies at the all night crop/craft session last Saturday. I posted about the crop here.
It has been a busy week for me. I did manage to get around to all the blogs again this week finally finishing up late on Monday. I really enjoy seeing what everyone is doing and what their work areas are like. If you want to see what I am talking about drop by Julias Stamping Ground and check out WOYWW!
Sorry your having such a bad time at the moment, sure they will sort it all out soon for you. Love all you ribbon storage - mine is jumbled up every where! Keep crafting.

Oh Vicki well done for getting around everyone, wow! I'm so sorry you have these medical questions still, you kinda think an MRI would answer it huh. Good luck next week. Meanwhile, your desk is gorgeous - a sight to behold. Your ribbon collection is, well, impressive!

Oh I recognize that birdie paper. I like to cover containers too. Pretty is always better, right.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you are experiencing health problems - hope they find out what is the matter before too long.
ReplyDeleteOn a brighter note - love your desk - the organisation is second to none - love your ribbon spools, the ink pad storage - everything! #36
If already posted, sorry, Blogger overtaxed and I'm over here trying to get through to say how sorry I am that you are going through all this. Been there with neuro investigations so please email me via my profile if I can help at all. The health system may be different - the human coping system, the same.

Sorry to hear you are still having health problems I hope they get to the bottom of it soon. Hugs Pam x
ReplyDeleteWow, I love your desk this week, heck every week. Thanks for the tip on the baby glycerin .... in water brush lol. Sounds nasty but I bet it works great. Will have to give it a try.
ReplyDeleteHope they get it all figured out soon!
Hugs, Marjo #5 Have a great WOYWW!
I know it's frustrating when something's wrong and they can't just tell you what it is and how to fix it!
ReplyDeleteBUT your desk looks like a fantastic place to play. I hope it's keeping you busy and distracted.
Aww, your have that chain bangle punch I want! It keeps going out of stock over here before I get to buy it! I love your rails of ribbons, very cool.
ReplyDeleteHope the specialist can help you; I know how frustrating it can be when no one can make a firm diagnosis, xx
Oh WOW I love your workdesk what a fab place to craft - I know too well that feeling of not enough space to put everything. Hope you get your diagnosis from your referral and that the right treatment soon follows
ReplyDeleteWhat you are going through is really difficult, particularly since the docs all have their heads in the sand (or elsewhere?) My thoughts are with you. Thank goodness you have a good outlook and a GORGEOUS workdesk. You're right, ya never know when you're going to need something of value ;-) Keep your creativity flowing, no one can take that away from you. Hugs, Vicki 138
ReplyDeleteI've got the same problem as you, I buy loads, no where to store it and can't throw anything out. Love your desk though it looks so colourful.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts are with you and I hope everything goes well with the neurologist.

Vickie, I'm sorry that you have all these medical problems at the moment and it does sound worrisome indeed. I really hope that you will get a more accurate diagnosis than just "learn to live with it" - who says something like that anyway? A little bit more empathy would be nice. Thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteOh I do so know what you mean about the medical run around my parents did it for many years till I was finally diagnosed at 16, but you are doing the right things and are persisting dont give up, you have to proactive as they are not going to do it for you, sadly!
ReplyDeleteI will pray something definite comes from this latest referral to get some results or heading in the right direction at least; and love that canister you rescued too Good on You.thanks for sharing,
Shaz in in Oz.x
you have such an amazing workspace! good for you to have a lot of space!
ReplyDeleteif traditional doctors have nothing left to offer, you might want to try the alternative way. many years ago my mom was bedridden and in pain for a long time and doctors could only give pain relievers that would mess up her stomach. then she went to an alternative doctor who prescribed a certain diet and supplements and she got well after that. it was amazing.
Loving the ribbon storage.
ReplyDeleteI hope you find relief soon. Sheila x
I am sorry to hear that you are not getting answers from the md's. I do hope that someone will take the time to really look into your issues and help you!
ReplyDeleteBut your crafting desk is looking fabulous! Everything is right there in arm's reach! And I understand about not wanting to get rid of stash because you may need it down the road!
Thanks for visiting me and good luck with your referral!
xoxo Karen
I hope your medical problems soon get sorted out. You get to the point where you have to be very determined to push the medics to actually get things sorted, but at that point, you are probably at your lowest energy levels which does not happen. Hang in there. Your desk looks so well organised with all those lovely ribbons and other storage.
ReplyDeleteHi Vickie . . . thanks for calling at my blog. I too hope you feel better soon. Just a thought . . . but are you taking Statins for cholesterol? Some of your symptoms sound like the side effects from them - I have personal experience of this via my husband, who felt almost immediatele better after he stopped taking them.
ReplyDeleteSending gentle hugs your way.

I really hope they get to find out what exactly is wrong with you. I had a very mysterious lung disease for 7 years before a doctor finally figured out that I was allergic to my cat!!! I have kept Asthma fom the ordeal, but at least that is not so scary.
ReplyDeleteLove your desk. All those ribbons - a girl could move in there and never leave.
As I'm so late I was not sure which post to comment on ...your space looks so organized but if its to small then I can feel your frustration. Whats on the work surface in the first looks interesting ... and now I have seen your Whiskey container I shall have to dig out the one I know is hiding somewhere....Yours is brilliant
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your ribbons! Wish I could have something like that for mine :)
ReplyDeleteSorry your still suffering, sending a hug.
ReplyDeleteinteresting WIP and just had a look, great finished piece :D

Oh I love ribbon and you have some lovely ones there. Hope all goes well with you and you are well again soon x
ReplyDeleteOh Vicki, sorry to read that you are having a time of it! Hope they figure you out soon! You altered whiskey can's appear to be the perfect size for a stack of cookies to me!
ReplyDeleteHi Vickie,
ReplyDeleteLove your tags in your later post and the altered can looks fabulous! Am only subbing this year to 'ease' back into work mode so I can return to full time teaching next year. Then the stress will begin for sure! LOL!

Your scrapbooking room may well be small, but it looks so like a home. You have the most at your fingertips. I really like your room. To see others' scrapbooking rooms, I think is great. Almost always you get some idea of how you would like to have in your own scrapbooking room.
