It has been quite awhile since I have participated in WOYWW...Time just seems to fly by with the never changing days that we have been enduring of late...For the first time since I have retired I am actually happy to be retired. I worked 43 years as a RN in emergency rooms, ICU/CCU, etc. I don't think I could physically or mentally face another disaster like what this Covid Pandemic is causing in the medical field. It has been a tough 4 years and the whole of the USA is a disaster at this point in time so we stay home and mope about!!
So I got off the subject of why I am here! WOYWW is What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday! Julia is the creator of this magnificent space and I have participated in it for many years off and on...going to try to be more on then off I hope! My work desk this week is a mess...whole room continues to be a disaster zone and I think I am rapidly becoming a hoarder of sorts! It has paid off though cause I have only been to the local Michaels twice in the 6 months since Covid entered our lives.
Stormy girl is my constant companion when I am in my "room" and loves to lay in front of the computer so I am always having to reach around her to get anything and that means some lovings in the mix. I have 3 critters and most the time they are all in the craft room.
I have been staying busy doing various projects by haven't been doing much original anything relying on kits to keep me going artsy fartsy! I did make up some tags for the yearly calendar swap I have been participating in a group that utilizes StamperAnpn stamps etc called
Art Incorporated We used to be on Yahoo groups but moved to group.io. I don't know what I did wrong but only 8 of the 13 tags photographed and I know I took a picture of all of them but...well here they are. They are suppose to be all the same...so there you go just a little bit different! Difference is good right?
So that is it for me for this week. I will check out some of the desks and see what everyone has been doing recently. I have missed it and get way too involved in the BS of politics in the US! It is a hot mess here for sure right now.
Vickie, how wonderful to see you on the desks again!! That's made my day, that has. I'm so pleased that you're ok and keeping safe and well out of the pandemic madness. Good to see your desk in action especially with Stormy Girl in front of the monitor. Mine isn't allowed anywhere near my fabric, it would be carnage!! I think your art dreations are fab and difference is definitely ok in my eyes 😁

welcome back - so good to see you again. This last week is the first time I have been into shops "just because" for months. they were very empty though; and I fear that many will not be able to keep going. Thanks for dropping by. Helen #2
ReplyDeleteThese calendar tags are terrific! I love all the details especially the metal embellishments. Your kitty is sweet too ~ I'm with you, I have so much stash I should never buy paper again....and yet..!
ReplyDeleteWonderful to see you again! I have managed not to go to the craft store for several months - just shows how much I have in my craft room!! Love your calendar tags, there is just he right amount of difference between them!! Hope life gets somewhere near normal soon and we can both enjoy our retirements!! Happy WOYWW, stay well, safe, Cindy #21

Stormy girl is simply gorgeous! I love the tags - all so much fun with the figures. Sorry I am late commenting. Happy belated WOYWW. Take care and stay safe. with love & God Bless, Caro xxx (#9)
ReplyDeleteFab tags ! Sorry I am late getting around the desks. I dream of retiring but they have put the age limit up here , so i have a few more years to go - i work in a school and am not looking forward to going back to work in Sept as there will be no social distancing. At least I have had a taste of how things could be over the last few months. Love your pen storage BTW. Have a lovely week. Soojay#22
ReplyDeleteIt is FAB to see your desk again Vickie, and in sunlight too. Love the pic of the pool as your screen wallpaper. Having the pool and outdoor space has been especially nice this summer huh, helping you stay out of the madness. I love what you’ve done on the calendars, and yeah, different is good, they are in essence the same thing and you’d have to have shed loads of those ephemera packs to make them all the same. And then you’d get bored....! I have linked my Coven friends to your blog this morning, to show them how to effectively use these characters! Great to see that you’re crafting, kits aren’t against the rules, and they help keep your mind off other things, huh! Hang tight gal, there must be a change coming. There must. Xxx
ReplyDeleteLovely to see you Vickie, I can imagine you are glad to be retired, these are indeed strange times and being at home is the best right now... I, too, had a lot of materials and no need to go to shops. I only purchased new brushes via internet once in those 6 months... but I do hope they'll find a medicine and/or vaccin soon - I am a loner but I begin to miss seeing/hugging some friends! Oh, I had a blouse like that in the seventies, I loved it! Yours is very pretty! I can imagine the temptation of pulling on the cat's tail, I think I would! Thanks for visiting my blog the other day, have a great weekend! Hug from Holland. Marit #8
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry Vickie, for the stange sentences at the end... I'd thought I copied only the last sentence from a previous comment but it seems I copy-pasted the whole comment I made on another blog - heat wave still in my brain I guess!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, Vickie - so lovely to see you back in our midst again. I was only thinking about you the other day and wondering how you were. I love your vintage calendar tags, and a nice desk, always improved no end by the addition of a kitty, especially one as beautiful as yours! I am so glad you are enjoying your retirement.
ReplyDeleteHappy belated WOYWW,
