My desk this week...not much different then last weeks view but I have been busy doing a few cards and other stuff! I spent a couple hours Skyping and talking with my daughter in California while I made a couple cards last night! I really miss her but she is having a wonderful time living out there. So much to see and do in the San Francisco Bay area!
The desk is still cluttered with all the papers, glitter, and glues I used to make the cards. I went to Michaels a couple days ago and walked out without buying anything so nothing new to show you today! I know I must be sick for sure!
The Cards that I have been making! the cupcake card...I decided that the white needed to be colored so made it up with green sparkly frosting top...definitely changes the look!
A double pocket card I made for a swap! It was fun but I don't think I will be making many more.
don't you love the bunting on this card! The paper is from Stamps of Life as is the Congratulations die... |
My garden is really growing and doing awesome things...Chuck has harvested all the potatoes, onions and cabbages now....We are filling the empty spots with more potatoes and squashes.
This is one of the hibiscus I wintered over in the kitchen window...It has started blooming and looks like it has more healthy grown in the making! I love these flowers! So cheerful! Makes me think of tropical islands!
A view of the sunset by the pool...this is such a calming place to sit and reflect!
The onion harvest...the picture doesn't do them justice!! Some of these onions are softball size...The picnic table is 70" round so you see they are good sized!
Also picked some of the first of the blueberries a couple days ago! It isn't much but is a start. The plant has been planted 3 years so I am glad to see it producing!
A couple pics of the flower planter...
It is nice sitting out here and enjoying the weather!
Okay! Done deal! I am going to go get dressed and go the the therapists office now! Hope everyone has a great week and I will be around shortly...
My hibiscus plant grew into a tree - almost lol. I decided to move it to another spot in the garden.., and it hasn't thrived at all :( Seeing your beautiful bloom makes me think I really should get another one for the garden... you're so right - they are very cheering and beautiful :)

What a gorgeous garden. Just love how you grow veggies and the like. It is the one thing I miss here in the Hill Country. we have 5 acres of soil-less land and many scrub plants and cedar. your attitude to buying new supplies is about the same as mine. more into refilling and replacing. Very disappointing that my Dylusions paint dried up as a replacement now has to be found.
ReplyDeletehave a great weekend

I love seeing your garden each week! Hope you don't have to wait too long for the surgery to help you! Helen #1
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW. You seem to be keeping busy despite your back pain. Hope that surgery is sooner rather than later, and it enables you to move more freely. I always love your photos of your pool - one thing I would love to have, and the weather to go with it! Ali x

ReplyDeleteI know you're unhappy about the surgery but you are such a positive person, I know you'll be ok. And it'll be wonderful to have less pain. I enjoyed seeing all your cards - I feel the same about my stash, am really not buying any more until I use up some of what I have already. Tell Chuck I have onion envy! I used to grow loads of them and loved stringing them into a plait to store but our new garden needs loads of work yet so I haven't planted any veg yet....sigh...

I really like that bunting card. I rarely buy anything from a craft store, but there are several online shops that I try to avoid unless I have some spare cash! Good luck with the back surgery. I know it's daunting, but the thought of being in less pain must make a difference. Sarah #8
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely colourful post Vickie. Thanks for your comment on my blog this week - my face is still tender and I have bruising down my neck but it's all good and will soon be better. ReplyDeleteWOW so much to comment on I don't know where to start, Hibiscus is amazing, hope the surgery goes OK, I hate operations too! Love the 2 pocket card but understand why you won't be making many more!! As for the diecutting machine, I have mine to hand and get it out most craft sessions, never a burden for me. Thanks for the visit BJ#17
ReplyDeleteSorry I'm late visiting. My internet was down for nearly two days, but I'm back now and wanted to thank you for visiting me while I was offline.
ReplyDeleteI was sorry to read that you are in so much pain and will need the surgery. Your back really looks out of whack.
Your cards are beautiful, and I love the dies you used. I would LOVE to have even 1/100th the amount of supplies you have, so was delighted to read you were curtailing your spending. Welcome to MY world!
Your garden is beautiful and your pool is always a joy to see. Happy belated WOYWW from #5. If you are planning another trip through Wichita (after surgery, of course), maybe you could give me a call.
Fabulous post,
ReplyDeleteSorry for the delay in commenting, laptop trouble. It's died on me and I'm in a bit of a flap.
On a positive note, my Dear Husband plans to buy a replacement for me.
