Does anyone have any good ideas on how to get rid of stuff and not just give it away?I could never pass by a pretty pack of paper... I must say I have no will power when it comes to pretty paper!
My Craft room! |
I counted a total of 16--12"x12"x3" and 5--12"x12"x4" plastic paper boxes full of paper not to
mention the Expedite that has about 6 storage cubes full. I HAVE A LOT OF PAPER. A lot is
Stampin' Up!, DCWV, Close to My Heart, etc etc etc. That is all prints and designer papers.
The file cabinet behind me in the video has 2 drawers full of every color of card stock Stampin' Up!
made from 2006-07 till now! I hardly ever use any card stock that isn't
Stampin'Up! except for the 12"x12" card stock stored in the Expedite. I think I can
truthfully say I am a stamp and pretty paperaholic.... Need help!!!
Don't call the Hoarder show cause it is all good stuff! Maybe I will post it on here, Etsy, and on Ebay and see if I can't unload some of it. I have been collecting and saving for years so I would imagine it will take more then a day to change it.
I started doing some more Close to My Heart scrapbook pages but haven't put any pictures on them yet so will try to get some printed and post them next week.
Hope everyone has a great week and thank you for visiting my blog! I will try to make it around to more blogs this week since I am feeling better! Another thing is the guys are out in California to see some drag racing even....peace and quiet! They aren't bad I am just a snoop!
I'm trying to play catch up..the past 2 wks have been so busy. I truly don't know how one cuts back. I've a lot of "Stuff" also. I think a garage sale for Just Crafting would bring the right people. Lots of work, but resale shops don't help much, so giving is good ...sometimes library's in our small towns, ours has 2 evenings a month for crafting... nursing home activity directors, even schools..assisted living...Enjoy some Spring like weather, it's almost here. Happy WOYWW.
ReplyDeleteOh my! You have a real aladdins cave there....in a good way that is. Would love to come and play in your room!
ReplyDeleteGood luck in finding a good home for some of your stuff.....or maybe you should just keep it and use it yourself, eh?

I love the video.and hearing you and looking round. I get horrified when my friends post stuff about/including me..I bet your heart stopped! I have little advice except the patterned papers would make up into good grab bags I expect!
ReplyDeleteI have no idea to give stuff away. I'm not any good at it. I might need it later lol. Your video looks great. I don't think I would be smiling quite as much and hubby might be sleeping on the sofa lol.

Love the video, Vickie. You certainly have a lot of things in your room. How to give things away? a little at a time, probably - sort a box or bag then pass on what won't be used - at least, that's how a friend and I do it....
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting and for your comments. I'm so glad you are feeling a little better this week. Well done.
Take care. God bless.

I have more paper then I could ever use and I still buy more. There are some charities that can use your paper. And I'm sure some friends as well. ☺️

Oh my that's one full space you could post online all you don't want or find out if a store has a craft garage sale even donating it to an old age home for arts m crafts or schools are always looking for papers to play with good luck with the purge and having more space when you do hugs Nikki 4
ReplyDeletethat's fantastic, you've very brave to share it... but it makes me feel quite normal!! Helen #2
ReplyDeleteFrom a fellow craft hoarder, I feel your pain! I too need to get rid of a lot of stuff that I feel I no longer need, but do not want to just throw away. I have given lots to local guide groups, and schools in the past. Thanks for sharing, Judith xx #32
ReplyDeleteSO MUCH IN YOUR ROOM! Of course it is all Good Stuff. I have been downsizing, downsizing, downsizing since well forever, but a lot more so since last year when we knew we were going to move this year. I probably got rid of half my paper--both designer and cardstock. I still have more than I could ever use in my lifetime. However, that said when moving I realized that I have no more white 12x12! How can that be? Anyway, I belong to a stamp club that meets once a month. I brought stacks and stack of loose paper and sold it for 5-cents a sheet or 25 sheets for a dollar. I also donated paper to several crafting friends who do cards for charities and the like. It doesn't end. Loved the video! Thanks for the visit earlier. PJ #47
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I'd have liked my space being laid bare like that....though it was interesting to see your room. I don't have any tips on how to slim down your paper stash but I do know that you'll feel better and lighter for doing it.
ReplyDeletePleased you're feeling better too, lovely gal :-)
Hugs, LLJ 14 xx

ReplyDeleteHi Vickie,
ReplyDeleteWow - LOVE the video. tee hee. I feel better about my wee little closet but still need to weed out. Speaking of weeding, send me an email with your mailing address. I have something I want to pop in the mail to you.
Thanks for visiting me. I'm finally getting around and it will be Wednesday before I know it!
