It has been a busy day today running here and there! I went to a doctors appointment with my daughter in Oklahoma City and found out that she will be having surgery in a week or so to remove a growth from the top of her uterus. The doctor said it was most likely a polyp or a benign growth but it would be best to have it off before she goes through the IUI (intrauterine insemination) as she stands a chance of miscarrying the baby. To cheer her up we used a bit of retail therapy and went shopping at the local Asian market and to the biggest mall in OKC for lunch then home where we could go our different ways to attend meetings this evening.

My desk this week with a collection of 'stuff' I have been using. A couple tags I made for a swap. |
|
An attempt at watercolor technique using stamps...I need more practice I think! |
My outside desk and the first tomatoes of the year... I have a few tomatoes my husband planted in the garden but these are in containers on the patio. They have all the earmarks of becoming prolific this year and we are already a head...due to the drought and heat last year we didn't get a single tomato. Difficult to thrive in 40-43C temps.
Oh yes...almost forgot to share the pictures of my grandbabies. These were taken during Skype visit so the quality isn't all that great but...grandmas have to brag!

Hannah at 9 months |

Teresa is 3 years. |
Trying to keep it short this week...good luck I hear...I know I am long winded but...

Gorgeous photos. Best wishes to your daughter - hope all goes well.
ReplyDeleteOh, I hope your daughters op goes well Vickie. I know they give you the feeling that it’s all routine to them but it still doesn’t stop you worrying does it.
ReplyDeleteYour desk is looking great. I love the tags and there doesn’t look like anything wrong with the stamping. If you’re not happy with it then keep practicing, it’s a good excuse to play. Have you tried stamping it onto watercolour paper once you’ve spritzed the stamp, you might find you like the finished look better?
Beautiful pictures of the little ones too, no wonder you’re a proud Grandma!
Happy Crafting!

Your workspace is pretty tidy! Lots of ink! Your tag looks great. I don't do too good stamping with water color either! Glad your daughter got that problem taken care of! Your tomatoes look wonderful! I want to eat them! Drought was bad for us last year too. I didn't even try this year. Your granddaughters are just precious! Thanks for sharing! Valerie #26.

I know your daughter won't feel like there's a plus sign, but at least the miscarriage chances will be significantly reduced by this surgery...I have her in my thoughts, for sure. Mum at your side and retail therapy - keeps the world turning, right? Loving the sight of your grand daughters, too cute! Now, is that two different supplies of blue twine or are you decanting one from the other??
ReplyDeleteYour desk looks very inviting this week, and those tomatoes!! Mine are only two foot with no fruit yet! Daughter's i my thoughts and all fingers and toes crossed, mine gave me some fabulous news tonight, but I can't share it yet!! (ssshh!) no one reads these! Thanks for my snoop! and your visit! Look at those tomatoes! They make me drool. I tried growing container tomatoes before with no luck. The sun is just too brutal in Arizona I think, although I have a nice variety of plants growing around outside, in the shady areas of course. Every time I see your desk I want to stop in and play. It looks like a fun place to create.
ReplyDeleteLove those tags.. fabulous design & colours..WOW look at your tomatoes.. lovely! and the Gorgeous pics of your beautiful grandchildren... A lovely post.. Hugs May x x x#20
ReplyDeleteYour water colouring looks fine to me. Those grandies are cute.

ReplyDeleteGreat tag, gorgeous grandchildren! Wishing your daughter well. TFS Happy WOYWW Cindy #39
ReplyDeleteHope all goes well with your daughter. Love the pics of your grandchildren. Those tags look great, love the little key. I've given up on tomatoes here, the fruit fly get them before we do and nothing seems to stop them.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Von #83
the tag and the tomatoes are impressive but of course the grandchildren win hands down! hope all goes well with your daughter.
ReplyDeleteGood luck to your daughter...I hope all goes well. I just got the news last week that my son and daughter-in-law have made the decision to stop putting her body through the ringer, and instead to adopt! So now, the waiting begins!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your tomatoes!! You're so lucky! It's been so cold up here, we don't even have a single bloom yet. It's hard to grow tomatoes in Seattle anyway for the lack of sun, but I really thought we would see something by now!

I'm leaving two comments on your WOYWW post this week! I just wanted to say thanks for coming back and checking out my address book! They're announcing a winner today so I'm keeping my fingers crossed! (Do you know how hard it is to type with crossed fingers???)
ReplyDeleteI do hope your daughters surgery goes well, my prayers are with you all at this time. I had something bad happen to me when i was pregnant and was told to eat lots of bananas min of 4 a day, high in potassium and believe me, I think it helped, strange I know but what the hell it can only help.

My best to your daughter. I'm sure a little fun was totally in order. Stress doesn't help pregnancy at all. I hope it all goes well.
ReplyDeleteI really want to start growing tomatoes, but I think I'm a little late... :(
What do you use your tags for?
