I have internet access today and thought that I would post WOYWW this week. I don't have a desk to show you because I am in Spain enjoying a holiday while my husband attends The European Severe Storms Conference in Palma de Mallorca. If you haven't had the chance to go to Mallorca, Spain I strongly encourage you to do so. I know that very few of my friends in the USA have even heard of Palma but it is a vacation spot for a lot of the European Community. The people here are so friendly and there is so much to do and see on this island in the Mediterranean Ocean!
I thought I would share a couple pictures of the sights I have seen since arriving here and maybe a picture of a toilet paper roll book I made the night before coming overseas.
First picture is of the Castello Bellver. Unfortunately it was night and none of the ones of unlighted outside turned out very well.
This castle is one of the first European round castles. This is a view of the interior of the castle. They had a 'mixer' at the castle for the conference participants and had a group of traditional dancers come and entertain! I was really impressed with the musical skills of the young man who played the drums and the flute like instrument at the same time!!
I went to visit the Catedral o la Seu yesterday and took a lot of pictures of it and the Palau de l'Almudaina which is the residence of the medieval monarchs of Mallorca. Now days they have a much nicer mansion outside the city!

Last pictures are the photo book I made using a toilet paper roll core. I covered the cardboard with Christmas papers and made sliding 'pages' of card stock that I also covered with the same family of Christmas paper. The tabs are made using the Tim Holtz die and the sentiment was a TH stamp!
If you would like to find out about WOYWW and what it is all about check out Stamping Ground the home of Julia Dunnit the Queen of all that is WOYWW!
Great piccies! enjoy the rest of your break x

Yes, Vickie, Will is a pilot with RAF Valley which is the team who did the rescue - it was rather tongue in cheek what I wrote bit to be honest it could have quite easily have been Wills piloting the plane. Do know it wasn't but at least it grabbed people's attention.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely trip you are having, never been myself but it is on my list of "to do's". Was THE destination when I was a teenager for holidays but I just never did it.
Look forward to seeing your book when Blogger behaves. Thanks for sharing - Neet x
Amazing Spain! What a great holiday you're having! You did wonders with the toilet paper roll too! Patsy from

Have a great time for the rest of your holiday. If you have time, there were two excellent rips we did on our last visit to Mallorca. One was a coach trip round the western area of the island, which involved a boat trip as well. The other was a 4X4 ride around some of the countryside that you would not get to see otherwise. As a 4X4 experience, it was very tame (we are used to really rough ground with our Land Rover club) but for sightseeing it was excellent, and included a barbecue meal in a fantastic viewpoint.
ReplyDeleteCarry on enjoying your trip some great places to photo.Absolutely adore the christmas album half way through one just need motivation to finish it now.Have fab wedensday and a creative week .Pop by as i have candy on offer until 26th

I've never been to Mallorca - probably because everybody goes there, but I've heard that it is really beautiful and your photos just confirm that. So perhaps one day - who knows?? I'd love to stay on a finca actually... Your book looks gorgeous, I really like it.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are having a wonderful time in Spain. I love the cover of your mini book.
ReplyDeleteThose are wonderful pictures. I hope you are having a great time. Love that book too.
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a brilliant time. We went there as a family when I was about 18 or so. I like Spain, but living in America has meant that every time I go to Europe it's to visit family and not for a "real" holiday!

ReplyDeleteLove Mallorca - and super photos Vickie! Enjoy, and please leave us some sunshine over there - off to Spain again in five weeks time. Di xx
