WOYWW #196 and purple crazy!

March 6, 2013...already!  Seems just like a day ago it was January 1 and I was having issues remembering that it was 2013.  I had heard that as you age time goes faster but OMG!! Everyone is invited to my wake/party tomorrow if time keeps passing at this rate.

Today is also Wednesday and everyone knows that Wednesday is a special day in Blogland.  WOYWW #196...another where has time gone!  Get yourself on over to Stamping Ground and check out the details of how you can play with us from Julia Dunnit the creator of all that is fun in this blogland!

My desk this week...
Desk is loaded up with stuff I took to teach a class.  It never fails that I take a month to get stuff put back in the right drawers!
Several someones asked me if that little desk area about was all that was to my craft area...nope it isn't.  I actually have a whole small room that is mine to play in but I am rapidly outgrowing it and have said on more then one occasion I was thinking about taking over a bigger room to turn into a playroom.  I just have problems doing that because I am afraid I will just grow to fill the room.  I want room for people to come play so once I wrap my head around no more 'stuff' I will move.

Here is a wide angle of the desk for those who want to see more.  As you can see I have 2 file cabinets full of 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock.  Some of my 12 x 12" papers on on the rack to the left.  I have 2 Alex storage drawers holding all sorts of playthings and 2 clip it up embellishments racks to hold goodies!  Feel free to look around there is a lot to see in this mess!
I took a painting class this past weekend that my daughter taught.  First canvas painting I have ever done!  My daughter is a graduate from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in art and she makes it so easy to follow her directions!  If you would like to see some more of Heather's artwork just click on her name and it will take you there!  If you would like to see her jewelry click here!
Can you tell I love purple?

Well I guess it might be true that I am purple crazy!  I love the colors red and blue so it is only logical that PURPLE tops my favorites chart.   I made gluten free cupcakes today....I like those funfetti cupcakes so I bought a gluten fee yellow cake mix and the purple funfetti frosting...I also put the candy bits in the cake mix!  Yummy!

See the yummy candy bits in the center?
I made a lot so feel free to help yourself to one and go get a cup of coffee and enjoy a hop around blog land!  I am!

Have a great week!

How cool you got to take a class from your daughter...I bet she was proud of her Mom...it may be because I love purple, but your canvas is just brimming with energy. And my, you do have quite a collection of STUFFS. But then, don't we all...tee hee. Enjoy playing with it all this week!!

  17. Gorgeous! I can see why purple is your fave color when you do such a marvelous job with it. :) But you know what? I really must come to see you and help you with that craft room! Look at all that lovely wall space above your ribbons...just beggin' for shelves! Or, be still my heart, cabinets to hide stuff it! But I say that because I am soooo lazy about crafting and don't want to get up or go very far to get anything! lol And I certainly don't want to stop getting more stuff, what would be the point of crafting if it's not an excuse to get lovely things to play with?! :) Say, I asked Julia and I would like to ask you, too: do you have any advice to someone who is *thinking* about offering classes in her area at the only crafting store in town? No one else offer them, but I have never done such a thing before and really don't know where to begin, but there is a need, I think...hmmm, well, thanks in advance if you have any advice and even if you don't thanks for the wider angle shot of your space. It's nice to see you have more than 6 inches to work with! lol :) Deeyll #68

  24. Love the purple hair! Now if I took a painting class it would look like my boys painted it! You really created a beauty. Nice angle of your desk. I struggle with space too. I have enough but I think the hoarding thing is a problem! I need to let go of more and slow down on my purchases! Ok enough fantasy, I love this stuff and I can never have enough! Now the real me is talking. No worries about the aging thing, I am on warp speed too. Just enjoy the ride!

Your craft room looks great but I'd say go for it, if you can have a bigger room. Great to have friends round to craft.
Must have been lovely to have a class with your DD... off to take a look at her link now....love Jo x

  47. Well, you certainly surprised me with that bigger shot of your room. You have a lot of stuff! I decided a while ago I was naot going to keep buying. Well, yesterday I got five stamps (well they were a bargain) and at weekend I got a paper pad and two stamps (I had seen someone with them and I just love steampunk which is what they were) so I guess this "control" sort of comes and goes

Love purple myself, what woman doesn't?

  48. What a lot of purple! I love the fact that it looks like you only have a small area to craft on most weeks, and then you show us the truth! I am envious of you having a whole room, even if it is small. I have a corner of a room which I have outgrown. Thanks for sharing. Happy Belated WOYWW. Caro #56

  51. Hello Vickie,
I hope that there is still a cake left for me! ;-(
Great shot of your craft room. I wouldn't move to the larger room, cos you will find your stash expands to fit it. My stuff used to fit on two shelves and an under desk unit. Now I have boxes all along the back wall of my old office as well as the shelves etc.
I'm late visiting for WOYWW as was offline yesterday,

  52. That is real purple prose!! Love your painting, you obviously really enjoyed creating that. Great pic by the way :)
And wow, do you have some stuff in your room! How do you pick what to use when there is such a quantity of items? I find my four boxes of fabric hard enough, I keep forgetting what I've got...that sounds sad, but it's true :)
    Thanks for dropping by....

I am also very late getting round but life intervened, as it does, so I am just catching up. I cannot believe we are nearly a quarter of the year gone already.
