WOYWW #203

Better late then never is my new mantra!  I seem to have lost track of time this week and Wednesday came creeping up on me.  Not been a good week health wise but here is hoping with the advent of the warmer weather the pain and "get along" issues will be resolved!

Okay why we are here!  My desk...my desk you ask... go visit with Julia at Stamping Ground and she will fill you in on what the big deal is about desks!
A wider view again showing the two clip-its that I am using.  It is a good way to have bling and embellishment at hand and readily accessible.
Larger clip-it holds the longer ribbon/bling .  I have several of these button box holders that sit on top of the black drawers.  I love these things from IKEA.  This is actually two drawer cabinets that are part of the ALEX line that I stacked one upon the other.
Latest art journal page!  Cinco de Mayo is celebrated here in the southwest/south central states.  Cinco de Mayo is not only a Mexican holiday but a holiday in the USA celebrating a early Civil War battle and the battle of Puebla where the US and Mexico joined together to rout France..last battle the French fought in the Americas!
Brick wall texturing and a large Margarita set the stage for the bright colors and banner of the page.  I love Dylusions ink and how bright they are.  Margarita glass is acrylic paint.
Want to see a couple tags I made recently?  I love the Tim Holtz style and enjoyed making these tags.

Every one knows how I love purple...

Okay that is it for me!  Hope you can manage to make it around to my page this week.  I will try to be a little better next week and get here a little earlier in the day!  Have a great week!
Is anyone interested in swapping ATC with me this year?  Let me know.  I am going to start creating them soon...meant to get started sooner but...

WOYWW #202

Another busy week has just flown by at a phenomenally fast pace! I have been busy around the house and teaching my classes and creating fun projects.

Here is a picture of my desk this week. What a mess! I think I keep it a mess cause it motivates me to use the stuff scattered about.  Well maybe not this messy cause I am going to have to clean it up a bit to have my 12 square inches to craft in!!  See the whiskey container in the background?  I am going to make another storage container with it like the one in this post .  I love reusing and re purposing so stay tuned I will find a good use for that white tub too!

Thought I would share pictures of some recipe cards I made/taught in a class this week. The papers are mostly from an Australian company called Ruby Rock It called Cook and an Oklahoma based company called Farm Fresh.  I love the feel of these papers.  I don't have recipes on them yet you will have to use your imagination!

I like making pockets on the page so I can stick larger recipes in them that don't fit the 5 1/2"x 7" page.

Okay that is it for me today.  Hope you have had a great week and I look forward to making it around to some of the blogs in the morning.  If you are wondering what this is all about go check out Julia' s blog Stamping Ground and she will tell you how to play!

Update! Sorry there weren't any pictures earlier but I posted from my phone and I seem to be challenged when it comes to adding pictures on the iPhone!

WOYWW #201 and Circle of Friends Retreat

I can't believe I missed a pivotal post such as WOYWW #200 last week!  By the time I realized what day it was it had passed by 48 hours so I just wandered around through some of the blogs saying Hi and Bye!  What's WOYWW?  Go check out Julia Dunitts blog Stamping Ground.  There is a little clicker link in the upper left side of the page!

This is my desk this week!  Not much change.  I went away for a weekend retreat with a group of scrap booking and crafty friends at a local lodge and this is what it looks like today after partially unloading the totes.  The colorful book is a journal I worked in and there is an awesome card I made using a friends stamp!

What a mess...a lot of fun was had tho!
An up close of the card.  I really love this stamp and I am going to have to look around and find one I can call my own!  Girly Steampunk.  I used Graphic 45 papers for the card!

inside of the card!
A few pictures of the Circle of Friends Retreat!
Entrance to the lodge where we stayed Friday, Saturday and Sunday till middle of the afternoon!
The lodge from the boat dock!
a Redbud tree in bloom.  One of the first this year!
Heather taking a walk around the lake.
My daughter Heather crafting and painting.  See a couple of her beautiful paintings in the back ground!
The Circle of Friends participants out on the boat dock.
A view of the lodge and people busy inside with their craft work!

Okay I think that is enough pictures for today.  Click on them to make them bigger if you would like a close up.  I am looking forward to blog hopping today so hope to be able to get around to quite a few!  Have a great week!
