WOYWW #256

WOW!  We are already 1/3 of the way through 2014 and it seems like just yesterday we were celebrating New Year's Day!  Welcome to WOYWW 260!  It has been a couple of weeks since I have participated but thought I would post early and make sure I got it done this week.  What is WOYWW?  Go to Stamping Ground and Julia will tell you what it is all about.

My desk this week...
Not a lot new or different to peruse.  Usual collections of inks, pens, and ribbons plus the bling and flowers on the roundy-round thing.  I am going to have to think of some place else to put that thing cause it is causing me some serious claustrophobia recently...not enough room to do what I want to do!

I have been busy doing some gardening and crafting this week but forgot to take pictures outside before it got dark so maybe next week I can show you how my garden is growing.

I taught a class this past week using the Botanical Tea papers from Graphic 45 and Bazill card stock.  I really enjoy interacting with the group that seems to enjoy taking my classes.  This book was fun and simple and could be used as a Mother's Day gift or something fun to lay on your coffee table!
A few pages from inside the book...
The book consisted of 8 "tags" decorated with the papers and the ability to journal or mat photos.  Fun not fussy!

Well Julia says keep it short and sweet so I think I will end it here and see if her post is up yet before I go to bed.  Have a great week!

WOYWW 254

I am late again but decided that I was going to make it to the party this week regardless of how late I was.  What party you say?  What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday of course!  Check it out at Stamping Ground where Julia has it all written out so you can participate too!

As you can see not much work is going on on my desk today.  It seems to have become the depository for all things you can't think of where else to put them.  When the urge hits I will sweep them into a box and shove it off to the side till they come back to the desk again!

A couple Easter tags I made....

Which came first the egg or the chocolate rabbit?

I know they look alike and there is a reason for that!  I was teaching a class last week and someone saw the egg stamp and 'wondered' what a tag made like that would look like soooooo....I made one so she could see it!    I end up doing a lot of that here lately...what if's is what I call them...What if I change this up or that up...I wonder what would happen if... get the idea?

I think spring is trying to sneak its way in to Oklahoma but old man winter keeps getting in and pushing back.  Last weekend I made this planter for my herb garden and two nights later had to cover it over to keep it from freezing...Won't be long and winter will truly be gone!!
If you are wondering what happened to the canvas that was on my desk last WOYWW I participated in check it out here!

Before I go I thought I would share a picture of me, my daughter and Brigita another WOYWW desker!  Brigita was in Oklahoma City taking a class and we got together for supper and had a great time visiting and sharing the evening.
Have a great week!

Steampunk Sunday

Went to the Medieval Fair last weekend...WOW talk about a lot of fun things to see and do!  I enjoyed visiting with a lot of my friends that are in the SCA and one of the main supporters of the fair each year.  They have an encampment at the fair that is intended to help educate people on what the Society for Creative Anachronism  is and how it fits into everyday life.  I am not a member but just hang around the fringes thanks to Heather and Michael but I am a firm believer in what they are about.  At the fair there were a lot of booths with a lot of fun things to see and purchase.  I really limited what I bought for various reasons but this was something I just couldn't pass up!!
Right!  I know a real shock for most of you who know me!  I am going to do some alteration on this beauty and possibly wear it to the Steampunk Convention here in Oklahoma next year!!

Speaking of top hats...  I was teaching a tags class this past Saturday and while the class was working on a tag I made up this sinister gent wearing a hat similar to mine!  :-)  I think the big difference is a 7-7 1/2" crown where mine is only about 5".

A couple weeks ago I showed my desk with a picture of a canvas I was starting to work on.  Here is the canvas mostly finished.  I am not for sure I like the canvas or not but it is as done as it is going to get right now.  I am tired of fiddling around with it!
There isn't any one thing wrong with the canvas really it just doesn't seem to say much more then bland!  I wanted purples, creams, and black and that is what I got but it is blah somehow!  Any thoughts on what I could do differently?

Hope you have a great week and lots of time to get in the room of stash and create a lot of fun stuff to share!
