WOYWW #307

Happy Wednesday!  It is a coolish wet morning this morning but the garden just seems to love all the rain!  Glad it did because the youngest cat didn't.  Poor Ghost I don't know what kind of life she had prior to coming to us as a stray but she is absolutely scared to death of thunder and lightening storms.  Ghost will cower under a table near where we are sitting or meow outside the bedroom door till it passes.  Poor baby must have been trapped outside in a storm or something!
Ghost checking out what I am doing in the craft room and making sure I am doing it right!

Speaking of craft rooms and desks that is why I am here!  Welcome to What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday!  I am here two weeks in a row...is the world coming to an end?  OMG!  If you are wondering about WOYWW go check out Julia's blog Stamping Ground and she will fill you in on the details.  I am not showing my desk this week but the desk where I have been working the last few days.  I have gone back up to my daughters house and worked with her while she makes things for a baby shower she is giving Sunday I have been making birthday cards.
Here is a picture of Heather across the table.  I think she is looking for a pattern or something to continue her project.  The theme for the shower is honey bee's and flowers and she has been having a lot of fun research and making things for the party.  We are sitting at 3ft x 8ft tables and both our tables are covered with stuff.   I was making the cards from a kit from Close to My Heart and it is the first kit like it that I have ever used but I have really enjoyed making the cards cause the directions are awesome and everything is in the kit to make the project.  I have been in a little bit of a creative slump recently as far as making cards and scrap booking so when I had a party earlier this month I got a kit for each to make hoping it would get me back into it.  Heather sells CTMH and you should go to her site and check it out.  Lots of fun things to see.

Close ups of the cards.  The kit came with everything it took to make 5 of each card with a little left over.  I was once told never to send a card with a naked envelope so as you can see I decorated those also.
The poor animals were just about going to rebel and every so often would come over to the tables begging to be taken back down stairs to their beds.  Looks like they have a rough time if the craft room and need saved doesn't.  It was after midnight when we called it a night so they were more then happy for me to go home!
Mocha, Wesley, and the bird Nyassa
Hope you have a great week and I hope to make it around to visit desks.  If you visit me I promise to come visit you...just leave a comment!

Start of a new journal...

When Heather and Michael went California last February I stayed with their furbabies and Nyassa.  I posted some pictures on the WOYWW post Wednesday but thought I would share a couple more and show you what I made with part of the gift they brought me back!
I think everyone knows I am a serious crafter...harrruummmmpppffff....well something like that anyway!  It was such a hardship staying up at their house cause I was so bored and lonely...NOT!
The puppies love it outside and the first few days it was nice and warm and I would sit outside and watch them play.  Late in the week we got a light snow and while I stayed in the house they still were outside enjoying it!
Outside playing in the snow.  WOW talk about excited they were rolling, jumping and playing like crazy.
Inara really did think they were nuts and wouldn't go outside at all!
Horace checking out what was to eat!
After all that running and playing they had to take a nap don't you know!  I got to sit between them watching TV most afternoon.  They would let me up to go to the toilet or to refill my coffee and that was it!
Just before midnight playing again!
In the afternoons and evenings we would go up in the craftroom they all settled down for naps and seemed most content while I did some painting and crafting.  I think they realized this place had a lot of their Momma and Dad in it!  Nyassa would say "go upstairs?" and the dogs bolted for the stairs so it didn't take a lot of coaxing to get them up there. We would spend hours up there and everyone even the bird enjoyed it.
Big Burdle!  Nyassa Bird a 19 yr old African Gray Parrot.
Rough life!!
My place in the room was just as rough as the critters.... This shot is taken standing by Nyassas tree looking to the other end of the room.  You can see the dog bed with the red blanket in the picture above on the lower right and in the picture below in the lower left.  It is a huge room!  Heather hosts a Monday Night Art night each Monday and we always have room for everyone!
It is a huge room!
My corner of an 8 foot table.  Lots of room to play and have coffee too!
Needless to say I had a lot of fun babysitting and taking care of the furbabies and Nyassa.  When they came back they brought me a bag of awesome goodies.  I had been complaining to Heather I didn't particularly like the art journal I had been painting in cause it always seemed to weep or run and the paper was too thin for the mediums I wanted to use so she brought me a big 9"x12" multimedia heavy weight paper book by Stillman and Birn.  It is really nice!  I had been wanting to try acrylic ink and she brought me 6 bottles of Daler-Rowney inks and 4 rolls of some of the most luxurious MT ex masking tape or washi tape to those in the know...Oh Yeah!  a 2# box of See's chocolates.  I just ate the last two chocolates tonight so I guess I know where the extra 7# I have on my hips came from!

So what was that I heard?  Want to see what I made with the new inks?  Okay here it is!  Isn't it awesome?  Aren't the colors vibrant and bright?  I decided I love acrylic inks and went out and bought me a few more different colors!

All the background is hand done,  I used a wedge white ink pen to go around each one and did faux stitching with a Sharpie fine marking pen.  The stamps are from Stamper Anonymous and Tim Holtz.  The Echinacea is from the Flower Garden set.  Butterflies are from the Framelets with Stamps set 660189 as is the creativity sentiment.  Other sentiments are from the Perspective stamp set.  BTW the Perspective stamp set has a butterfly stamp that is larger...25% then the one in the framelets set but it is the same stamp.  Coloring on sentiments done with Sharpie alcohol ink pens.  Flourish in the lower right done with liquid pearls from Ranger Ink.

This post became picture heavy quickly and it seems my dialogue increased also.  Hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I did writing it!

OMG! WOYWW #306

Where have I been?  What have I been up to since the last time I posted on WOYWW?  Truthfully I don't know!  I know I have been busy...well busy for me anyway.   I haven't been doing a whole lot of paper and paint crafting but I have been busy.

In February I spent a week at my daughters house baby sitting the fur grandbabies and having a lot of fun doing it.  Well actually4 furbabies and one feather babe!   They have 2 cats and 2 dogs and 1 bird.  Unfortunately I couldn't find a photo of there 10 year old tuxedo cat Horace.  I know I have taken dozens but they seem to have disappeared!
Inara is 10 years old
Wesley (R) is 1 and Mocha is 2 1/2 yrs.
Nyassa is an African Grey Parrot that is almost 20 years old!

My garden is starting to grow again.  Chuck and I have been outside cleaning and planting and things are coming together!

L side has onions and broccoli and cabbages
R side Onions Cabbage, Corn
Chuck worked on the walkway between the beds putting down mulch!
The swimming pool is still covered for a couple more weeks.
The city planted a redbud

We have a lot more stuff planted since I took these pictures and the plants are a lot bigger too!  I will have to get out and take some more pictures this week to show off.
These are my desks this week!  I have been creating but not a whole lot.  I have been doing some art journaling and that is about it!
Isn't this a royal mess!  I took these pictures a couple hours ago and then I got in here and did some cleaning up a bit.  I still have a lot more to get done.
The desk in the middle of the room is piled high and stuff stacked in front to the point it has to be straightened up to use.
The desk near the window is almost as bad!
Thought I would share some journal pages...
Documented Life Project (DLP) week 3  Words with Friends
DLP week 4 color
It has been a lot of fun art journaling and I hope to get more done this week.

If you enjoyed seeing my desk and what I have been up to jump over to Julia's blog...Stamping Ground and join in the party of seeing others desks and what they are up to!
