WOYWW #159

WOYWW and it is Tuesday evening, late, in Okieland and I have had a busy day so far.  I spent some time putting together some patio furniture today and got to the putting the chairs together when I realized I not only didn't have all the nuts, bolts, and screws but the directions weren't there either.  Don't know if that kind of thing makes you nuts but it does me and I had a few unkind words to say about the manufacturer also!  I think it is a really pretty set and I am off to the hardware store to purchase some nuts and bolts to finish up the chairs!  OMG!  I know it isn't worth the stress of getting angry about it but I am...put out good money and get inferior service.
This is what it will look like when I finally get the screws to finish it up...cool huh!
So on to my desk now that I have vented a bit!  After all that is what WOYWW is all about!  If you haven't visited Queen Julia the founder of What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday today would be a good day to do so.  Follow the link and she will tell you what I am going on about!
My desk with an array of things to see.  I was working on a project using the Dream a little Dream stamp I received in a swap and couldn't find a embossing folder which lead to me starting a file notebook with the packing pictures of each folder, embosslit, Big Shot and Sizzix die I own.  It will be a good deal once I get it all together but it is taking more time away from the fun play then I want to give up right now.  When I am creating I don't want to be bothered with practical stuff!
I bought several sizes of boxes to hold my embosslets, Bigz, and other Sizzix dies that I am also sorting out while I work on the files in the note books.  I am going to be so organized!!

This is the stamp that started the hunt.  I belong to a group on Yahoo! called creativeblock-stamperanonymous which is a group of stampers that use StampersAnonymous stamps to create all sorts of fun things.  Last month in the tag swap Stampers Anonymous gave stamps out to 20 people who swapped tags and I was one of the lucky ones to get a Dream a Little Dream, Tim Holtz stamp.  The challenge this month is to use this stamp in the swap.  You should check out the group it is a lot of fun.

Well that's it  for me today.  I am going to move some more stuff around in my craft room and work on getting the kitchen straightened up for the man who is coming in tomorrow to do some plaster work in the kitchen and finish tiling the new shower/bathroom off the kitchen.  Hope everyone has a great day and I will try to get around to a few desks before bedtime tonight.  Have a great week!

Here are some of the ATC I received from the swap.  I would also like to apologize to the ATC swappers for being tardy getting the ATC out to them and after we swapped almost a week into it I dumped a coffee glass over on them and ended up redoing the whole lot.  They are in the mail today and should be there asap!

  1. I know what you mean...you finish putting something together and there's this bag of 'stuff' left and you wonder what it's for...I mean....if it was a build yourself car...would the wheels fall off!? Have a great week. HaPpY WoYwW!

  2. I go crazy too, when there are bits missing (and it happens a lot). Companies don't seem to have the same work ethic as in the old days, drives you nuts. I must say you are really organised, a bit scary at how organised. I think all the fun is in the looking for things (he he).
    Have a great week.

  4. That patio set is gorgeous - will be worth it when finished, but so annoying that bits/instructions were missing. Your organisational skills are fab. I don't have many embossing/cutting dies at the moment - they live in plastic shoe boxes, but your file/box system is definitely the way to go. I will check out that Yahoo group - sounds fun. Happy WOYWW. Ali x #61

  19. I suspect the atc swaps will continue until next anniversaire....

we often have full colour instructions and all the supplied tools and parts, we chose to ignore all this and cobble things together with imagination and string ( never sit down on one of our chairs - they look interesting but cannot bare any weight)

  21. That's so frustrating when the necessary screws etc aren't with the package and happens far too often - love the look of the furniture though. As for getting organised, it's a full time job isn't it?! You've received some gorgeous ATCs thanks for the opportunity of having a peep at your workspace - trying to make a few visits early this week! Hazel, WOYWW #87 x

Really annoying! So back to the shop - a bit of a telling off and I got what I needed!! Why can't they just do it right the first time????

So glad I can spy my ATC, I thought I might have sent yours to someone else by mistake... just as I popped it into the post box I thought, haven't I already sent them one??? But no,it's there Phew!!! And yes, hubby, he was just 16 when he gave me that photo of him on that scooter. He'd 'redesigned' it himself! It used to belong to Little Pams hubby...(mentioned on my blog a few times) weird how now, we've all got back together again. Happy Crafting! HaPpY WoYwW

Lucky you to win a stamp, can't wait to see what you do with it.

I know all that sorting and organizing feels like a waste of time, but it will save you so much time in the future. I always get a sense of satisfaction after a good organizing session.

  37. I was just about to complement you on how lovely your garden is looking and then I read the caption underneath. It looks very comfy furniture though, so when you do eventually get it all together I can see you spending many hours sitting on them. I’ve actually just ordered myself a wrought iron garden bench and cushion this morning. It was already in the sale with £50 off and then they were giving another 25% off today so how could I pass that offer by.

It looks like you’re having fun with your new stamp and I know what you mean when you say you would rather be playing that organizing stuff. I need to make a colour chart for my distress inks but never seem to get around to it.

    Happy Crafting!

  38. Love that new garden furniture, hope you can get it sorted soon so you can enjoy it, I'd be as frustrated as you btw, hate things like that! I'd have cried if I'd dumped coffee everywhere, especially all over finished work, sigh. Stay safe on your trip, although that does sound like an oxymoron considering what you're doing!!

  39. No wonder you needed to vent ...if you pay for good flat pack furniture you expect it to be all there. I would send the bill for the missing bits to the manufacturer and state that you will NEVER recomend their products to any one ...maybe you will get your money back ...well you can hope lol.
Love how organized you are becoming.xx#9

  42. Lovely new garden furniture, and sounds like you have some exciting remodeling going on too, awesome! 44. Love the patio furniture. I saw a double seated swing/rocker that I really liked but the thought of putting it together was daunting. Then I realized I would be sad to have such a lovely piece out baking in the sun all day and no room for in the house... so no rocking thing for me. I hate it when the need to organize gets in the way of playing. You'll be happy you did got it all done later though. I like that stamp. Stampers Anonymous stamps are so much fun but I'm not that much of an artsy person to know what to do with them.

  45. Sorry about your nuts and bolts...I hate it when that happens!! I can't wait to see it all done. The furniture is going to be fabulous!!

Congrats on all your organizing. I know it's taking away from the fun now, but I think you'll love it when it's finished...and you'll probably be even more productive!!

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek at my space this week!!
