WOYWW #399 and thoughts for the day!

I think I am starting to get over this cold or whatever this sickness has been going around my house...Chuck and I are both on the med and that makes me happy!

I don't have much to show for on my desk today...  Looks a little more picked up but still messy!  I went to Michael's last week and bought a couple new mixed media pads to use for my online classes and I had them cut one of the 5.5"x8.5" pads in half so that I could do smaller pages.  I don't know about you but I have drawers of stuff that I have created and haven't done anything with.
The box of washi tape I got at the same time...$10 for 45-5yd rolls...then a discount on top of that!!  See the clear plastic sleeve on the lower center near the half pad?  that is the prompt cards from Effy Wilds Journal 52 online group.  It is a year long online workshop that is free and every Friday she posts prompts to help create a journal page or this year an ATC.  I am going to use one of the 1/2 pads for that!  The other half pad is going to be used for Lifebook 2017...got to get started on both.  Julia will fill you in on why I am posting my desk if you would just click this link.

No creative goodness to share this week...I marched in the Oklahoma City Women's March with my husband and several thousand other men and women last Saturday so I will share some pictures from that.  It was an awesome experience to see people marching for equal rights, healthcare, education, equal pay, equal treatment of all peoples!  I was so proud of all the people around the world standing up and being heard.

a sign I saw but i borrowed this off the net

real men!

chilling!

All the right reasons to march!
Thought I would add a short clip of the march
My reward after the march...a large margarita and a plate of nachos...yummy!
It has been an interesting week since the march and since the new president took office...times are really radical right now and more then a little scary for me.  I have been bullied and called all sorts of names by people that I used to think were friends.  I posted on Facebook today a post asking my "Facebook friends" to remove me from their friends list if they voted for Trump and what he stands for.  The man is crazy and these people are following him like he is a god!

Okay enough...it has been a horrible week and I am hoping I can get in my craft room and do something creative and get rid of all this negativity...after my therapists appointment today!

  2. I had to smile when I read about you joining the March simply because my OH joined the Women's March in Phoenix. We are visiting from the UK and I had gone to CHA and he was at the State Capitol Museum. He had enjoyed the museum and came out only to be swept up in the March!
So sorry you are so upset by your new President, hope your fears are not as bad as you think they will be but so sorry to hear about friendships falling by the wayside.
    Hugs, Neet

  4. Thanks so much for marching! It gave me hope to see all the people coming together at the marches.

Love your Michael's bargains - they have good sales and those extra coupons are nice.

    Happy WOYWW

  5. I know what you mean. I'm trying to be open minded and respecting people's choice but it's been really hard. I just can't wrap my head around anyone who backs him up. The photos of the march are great. We had some great ones in CA too. Have a great week. Dorlene #49

  8. Hi Vickie, fab photos, totally agree with you- how on earth can he be seen as a fit human being, let alone one to hold such high office? I bought some of those mixed media pads off Amazon not too long ago- still waiting for something to happen in them, lol. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #5 XxX

  9. Looks like a full week. Thanks for sharing the photos! How cool that Michaels would cut that pad for you. Hobby Lobby won't. Did the pages come out even all the way down? I'm checking out the challenges you mentioned. Creative Blessings! Kelly #42

  10. Happy Belated WOYWW. I am loving that box of washi tape. Great that you could get the paper pad cut in half. I have a big A3 guillotine, but the big paper pads I bought are too big to fit in it, so I have to cut a bit with scissors first. How fantastic to go on the march - I would have liked to have supported it. Ali x #29

  11. Good for you and hubby for marching, although I don't know about the "being heard" part. Trump is definitely marching on his own path to his own drum, for his own entertainment, and if you don't like it, too bad. Such a sad state of affairs, I wonder how long it will take his followers to realize their "bigly" mistake, because it is huge, really huge. It's like the story of the Emperor's New Clothes. We can see it, but his followers can't. Let's hope something can be done before he bankrupts the USA too or blows someone up. Thankfully everyone that I know (except one) is not a follower. Do some art to release all that stress! Thanks for sharing, Lindart #46

  12. Life has really sucked lately and thank goodness making ART is still free... for now anyway.
The March was pretty amazing. Some of Oklahoma's signs were the most creative.I want a copy of Time magazine since the March made the cover!! HISTORY!
Glad you and Chuck are on the mend. It seems we cannot shake these viruses completely before we get another one.
There were people testing pos for the flu at the doc on Thursday when we were there! Yikes.
Enjoy the sunny few days ahead.
