WOYWW #204

Another busy week and I feel like a bloody banker...(did I use the word correctly?) paying out for a new washer and dryer, transmission and heat and air work on the car, and new raised vegetable beds in the garden!!!  All in all I have successfully done away with my savings account but will start putting back in this week.  Love the new appliances and the way the car drives so I can't complain.  I will take some pictures when I can to post of the new beds...nothing compares to a fresh tomato and only one word can describe it!  Awesome!

Welcome all my blog friends from WOYWW!  I am hoping to be able to make it around to more blogs this week and have a good snoop to see what everyone is up to!  Not feeling well really limits my ability to get around...pun intended.   I was just reading up on the ATC rules and regs for this year and I am going to make 25 +/- ATC to share so if you would like one please leave me a message or email me at okienurse@gmail.com with your address and your desire to swap.

So here is a picture of my desk this week...thought I would try for a different view this week!  As you can see not much is going on.  I straightened up a bit last night and haven't been back in since.
If you are interested in what WOYWW stands for visit with the awesome Julia at Stamping Ground and she will fill you in on what it is all about!

I have been hearing so much about the Gelli Plates I decided to give in and give it a try until I went online to buy one and a small one cost so much that I decided not to.  I started looking around for an alternative and ran across a YouTube video about making one out of gelatin.  I am going to give it a try and see if I like the prints before I invest in one and find out it is just another of my many times of running out to buy the most awesome and can't live without product of the year.  I have a closet full of those that I never even look at now but paid so much for this or that I can't bear to get rid of it.  If you would like to make your own too visit Linda Germain's blog for the directions and how to use it once you make it directions!

Thought I would leave you with a card I made for a stamping class I taught.  I have heard so much about the triple mat cards I thought I would give it a try and I think that it was easy peasy enough the students liked it!   Learning to stamp is hard sometimes and this was just plain fun!
Well that's it for tonight.  I am going to go find a glass of iced tea, sweet please, and hop around to a few blogs before I go to bed tonight.  It has been in the upper 80's (30's) so ice tea is in order.  It was freezing here on Saturday night and will get close to freezing on Thursday again but for right now we are frying.  Have a great week!

  2. I love all your bits and bobs on your desk.. Triple time stamping is such fun when I tried it I did 3 just to see if it worked in different ways. Your one is so lovely and I am sure the ladies you taught loved it.. Yes gelli plate is on my list of must haves but yes agree they are a bit expensive to buy 25 ATC's wow I made 6 last year think that is about my limit, postage is the stopper for me its expensive from Australia.

  3. It does seem that things come in threes - new appliances, car repairs, beds, so hopefully you will be done for a while. Raised beds....now you have my attention!! And vine ripened tomatoes out of your own yard - you are absolutely right - just AWESOME!! The card is lovely - am not familiar with that technique....will have to go look it up. Glad to hear you are feeling better...hope that's the case! I would love to swap ATC's. I'll send you and email!

  12. It so true that as soon as one expense comes along, everything else starts to break down, doesn't it? Love the triple stamped cards, its amazing how effective they look, with such a simple technique. Been considering it for my bulk Christmas cards this year.Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #81

  14. Aw that's not so good for the bank balance but hey it's life! I'm like you, I looked at the gelli plates and thought it was too much for me so didn't bother. Great card btw. Hope you are feeling ok and not in too much pain this week. I'm more settled now I've increased meds but even that doesn't make the pain go away totally. Take care Zo xx 77

  16. What a lovely layered effect on that card. And oooh the carousel! I love pretty storage, but tend to make do with cheap and plentiful laundry pod tubs :)

On the gellatin plate, do keep it in the fridge, lest it rot and smell :) I'm betting you will move on to the more stable Gelli plate at some point. It's so much fun....

    Happy WOYWW!

  17. Super storage and I love the triple stamped card! A great technique and you can also use patterned papers to get a similar effect - just a question of careful lining up and then cutting.

  32. Hi vicky
you sound pretty busy to me doing all that organising is exhausting isn't it. I have heard the jelli plates are quite easy to make but have a tendency to 'melt a bit and turn to liquid so watch out for that, I have seen some very good results... visit mary ann she had some greta prints .... good luck with it anyway

  35. The triple print card is gorgeous, so pretty. Will need to add that to the list of things to try.
Still not convinced on Gelli plates yet, I am a little bit too control freaky to leave it to chance, which it seems to be.
I would love an ATC, will email tomorrow.

  44. Oh, I know just what you mean about having to have the latest cool thingy and then feeling guilty about it languishing in a closet. I'm trying to do less and less of that these days, but it's a battle. We do so love new toys. :-)

Thanks for stopping by my blog and for the kind comments.

    Happy creating and happy woyww!
