OMG! WOYWW #306

Where have I been?  What have I been up to since the last time I posted on WOYWW?  Truthfully I don't know!  I know I have been busy...well busy for me anyway.   I haven't been doing a whole lot of paper and paint crafting but I have been busy.

In February I spent a week at my daughters house baby sitting the fur grandbabies and having a lot of fun doing it.  Well actually4 furbabies and one feather babe!   They have 2 cats and 2 dogs and 1 bird.  Unfortunately I couldn't find a photo of there 10 year old tuxedo cat Horace.  I know I have taken dozens but they seem to have disappeared!
Inara is 10 years old
Wesley (R) is 1 and Mocha is 2 1/2 yrs.
Nyassa is an African Grey Parrot that is almost 20 years old!

My garden is starting to grow again.  Chuck and I have been outside cleaning and planting and things are coming together!

L side has onions and broccoli and cabbages
R side Onions Cabbage, Corn
Chuck worked on the walkway between the beds putting down mulch!
The swimming pool is still covered for a couple more weeks.
The city planted a redbud

We have a lot more stuff planted since I took these pictures and the plants are a lot bigger too!  I will have to get out and take some more pictures this week to show off.
These are my desks this week!  I have been creating but not a whole lot.  I have been doing some art journaling and that is about it!
Isn't this a royal mess!  I took these pictures a couple hours ago and then I got in here and did some cleaning up a bit.  I still have a lot more to get done.
The desk in the middle of the room is piled high and stuff stacked in front to the point it has to be straightened up to use.
The desk near the window is almost as bad!
Thought I would share some journal pages...
Documented Life Project (DLP) week 3  Words with Friends
DLP week 4 color
It has been a lot of fun art journaling and I hope to get more done this week.

If you enjoyed seeing my desk and what I have been up to jump over to Julia's blog...Stamping Ground and join in the party of seeing others desks and what they are up to!

  7. Spring is here and your garden is already started. As for me, I'm waiting for rain to stop so ground can dry out enough to plant. Love your space and am always happy to get to look around.

  8. I know how workspaces can pile up ~ so I relate! And I'll be extra busy in my gardens just as soon as we move the chooks put of the main vegetable garden to their Three-Season spot. I've planted peas ... but don't dare plant anything else while the ladies have access! :)

Enjoy your art journaling. I love it too!

Great journal pages. I like the one with the birds and flowers. Is that your own handwriting?
You raised beds looks great too. You are so organised. Keep us up to date with your 'garden babies'.

  11. Your journal pages are fun! I love the colors and shapes etc. I have a few journals but never tried one yet. I see a white page and put it back on the shelf. Your garden is coming along great! I haven't gotten anything in yet (wait until May here). I look forward to seeing your bounty!! Winnie #48

  12. I understand being busy and away from art and blogging for a bit. Same thing here. I love those raised beds for your garden. I wish I had a space for something like that here...the only way I could grow anything in AZ. It would have to be netted or something though as we have hungry bunnies, birds, and javelinas that eat everything! lol Shel@PaperOcotilloStudio #17

  13. I sometimes wonder what I've been doing when people ask what you've been up to, the time just goes. Love all the fur and feather babies. So pleased to see Nyassa looking so well, your daughter obviously knows how to look after him. Hoping you have a great crafty week and happy woyww, Angela x 36 x

  15. Hi Vickie,
Fur and feather babies are the BEST to babysit! The African Grey Parrot is just beautiful. Great start in the garden too. A hard freeze is expected tonight so I'm glad that I've resisted planting anything!
Your desk looks very busy and waiting for action! Isn't it funny how time goes by and you look back and wonder "what did I do with my time"?

    Thanks for visiting me already!
    Happy WOYWW

  17. What a lovely varied post, Vickie - love the fur/feather babies, especially Inara who is a really beautiful kitty! Love the journal pages too.

Thank you for a lovely comment, and I'm sorry to hear you went through a cancer battle too - I do hope you have made a full recovery. I had my histology result on Monday and it wasn't too good - the cancer was very aggressive and had spread through the entire bowel wall and into one lymph node. Although they got it all out, I will definitely have to have some chemotherapy and I have my first oncology appointment on 5th May when no doubt options will be discussed. I am hoping for a single course of oral chemo which hopefully won't make me feel too poorly as I really feel I've had my fair share recently! I am also experiencing some skin irritation around the stoma, which the stoma nurse has seen and she's given me something for it, and I hope it clears up soon as it's a pain. It's apparently a common problem in the early days as the whole thing is a learning curve.

  18. Hi Vickie
Love your journal pages! So bright and colourful!
Those fur babies are very cute. I would never show a pic of my "room" because it is so bad and yours like quite neat and tidy compared to mine :)
I'm thinking the only way I can replace that stamp is to buy it from o/s. I haven't found it here in Australia, so far. But I have a good image from it, maybe I can "digitise" it? (Whatever that means!)
Thanks for dropping by earlier, much appreciated.

  22. Hey Vickie thanks for visiting e. I have the fiskars press too and I use it ALOT. I find for bigger stamps stamp presses give you a crisper image. Love all the pics..heading your way once that pool gets uncovered ;) Your journal pages are gorgeous. Cx #55

  24. Well after saying my internet was playing nicely.... it decided to prove me wrong! Sorry for the late visit!

Your fur babies are gorgeous and I really love those raised veggie beds. I only have a teeny tiny garden and keep thinking about growing some veggies in pots. I will give it a try one of these days.

Thanks for coming to see me already :) Our Ikea isn't quite so far as yours but far enough - about and hour or so away. We were in the area though, would've been rude not to go in and sample their breakfast and buy some goodies :P

  25. I enjoyed the pictures of your fur and feather babies. :-) Sounds like you had a great time babysitting. And that craft room is to die for!!!
In answer to your question about my ink storage - they are media racks for the wall. They hold DVD's or ink pads. :-)
    Thank you for your visit.
