WOYWW

Thought I would post a little post and share some photos.  I haven't been doing much.  Haven't felt like it.  I have problems right now but everyday I can see them getting better and better.

My desk...not much has been going on on my desk...
Not a lot going on as you can see.  I have some new dies and stamps from Stamp of Life that I got recently but haven't had the umph! to use them!  I joined The Stamps of Life card club in hopes it would stimulate me to make cards but...it is a work in progress.  Here is all that I have done since I had surgery...  I made 10 ATC to send to people in WOYWW in June and I can't find them.  I guess I will just have to break down and make more because I know I made them but didn't get them mailed out before I went to surgery and after wards I literally haven't been the same.

These are the July tag calendars that I made for the Creativeblock StampersAnonymous group on Yahoo Groups.

These are the whole year!

Another group on Yahoo Groups had a 6"x6" calendar swap and I totally stole the idea off Pinterest using Washi tapes and papers I had from a long, long, long time ago!

This card is the only really original idea in the bunch.  I received a pudgy unicorn from The Stamps of life and this is what I came up with!

The following cards I made from kits that I have had sitting around that were from Stampin'Up!  I embellished and did some change ups but it is something I can say I made!

Okay I am going to call it quits for today.  I hope to be able to start making it back here weekly again.

For those that emailed and wanted to know what was going on...I had the spinal surgery June 26, 2017 and things didn't go as perfect as I wanted them to go.  I had some issues with blood loss (3 units) that caused my oxygen levels to drop enough it has caused me to lose some memories and ability to think right...my doctor calls it loopy!!  I am doing much better today then 4 months ago but still forget where I parked my car etc.  I have some expressionary aphasia meaning I don't finish sentences or drop thoughts randomly.  Really hilarious some of the stuff that does and doesn't come out of my mouth!  I had already booked a trip to Croatia with my husband thinking all would be on the up and up but I didn't leave the hotel unaccompanied because I would get lost and confused...not a happy state but like I said I am better now and the pain is a lot less in my back!

  1. Hi Vickie. Oh my goodness - what a lot you have been through in the past few months! I'm so glad you are beginning to feel more like yourself, and that the pain is so much improved. That's a real encouragement for you.
You have done really well with everything you have managed to make!!!
    Take care. God bless.

  2. It looks like you've been pretty busy to me. I am so glad you're feeling better than you felt 4 months ago. So sorry to hear the surgery didn't go as well as expected. I hope you continue to improve and are able to find those ATC's.

  4. Hi Vickie, you have made some lovely stuff here, so you will get there. I can totally relate to what you are coping with- and you are coping, it's just hard having to ask for help, or be supervised, in effect. I had similar after my bowel surgery, and often said I sort of felt like a 3 year old- I needed an afternoon nap, and had to hold Hubbys hand, then the super market trolley when we shopped! The best bit is that your pain level has improved- constant pain is so debilitating. I was improving fine, then the sepsis I have just had really threw me a curve. I too find I drop thoughts all the time, but it does slowly get better- I find that they come back now after a few days, which is better than a while ago. Sending you love & hugs, Shaz #10 XxX

  5. It's so wonderful to see you back on the desks again Vickie - I'm sorry that you've had issues with the aftermath of the surgery but am really pleased that you're in less pain. The other stuff will improve, maybe not as quick as you'd like but you'll get there. I've made items before now and forgotten where I put them so you're not alone there, Missus, lol!! It's a great excuse to sit down and make some more.
    You take care, sending hugs,

  8. Lovely to see your post and hear that things are improved with your back, but sorry that you are getting such unwanted side effects. I had a few unpleasant problems following surgery, so I understand a little of what you are going through - frustrating isn't it. Here's hoping you continue with a good recovery and I hope you enjoy getting stuck into making more ATC's!

  10. Happy Very Belated WOYWW - and OMG you have certainly been through the wars. I hate surgery and being in hospital. You are amazing to have any crafting to show us, and you are far more productive than I am. Most days I say that I am going to get some journaling done or whatever, but then I run out of time by getting busy with something else (learning Spanish is taking most of my time at the moment). Take things slow and spoil yourself. Ali x #28

  11. Oh Vickie so glad to hear you are improving, was good you could make that trip. You have so many beautiful photos here so looks like you've been keeping sidetracked. No sun here and so dreary and fog so I don't go out in that. I was going to post for tomorrow and noticed you played along so happy to have you back. Take care of yourself and enjoy some sunshine if it is your way.

  13. I hope that you will recover and get better.
But it is important that you are treating yourself to take it all completely at your own pace. No stress!
I lost memory and didn´t remember many of my friends for years. Due to trauma.

Art keep us sane as they say. And it is true!
Your tags are terrific and my art room is the same mess... :)
