WOYWW

Welcome to my desk this week.  IF you aren't aware of WOYWW and would like to join in the fun check out the deets here at Stamping Ground and our hostess with the mostest Julia will tell you all about it.

This is my desk this week...well one of them.
I am having issues with too much stuff, too many storage items, not knowing what I have, what I don't have, and being able to access what I have.  It really puts a damper on the the creative urges when I spend so much time trying to find something.   I have started labeling drawers and bins but things like the center desk with the spinner racks takes up so much space.

On to better things...
My daughter Heather turned 37 years old this January 7.  OMG!  Where does the time go?  I made her a card for her birthday using Graphic 45 and some bling I found in the mess.  That is one of my new years resolves is to use only what I have in the way of papers and bling.
I can't make a card and leave the envelope naked...here is what I did with this one!

The inside of the card.  I like to leave room to write.
Okay I am done!  Almost missed Wednesday again.  I promised myself I would do better this year posting but this blasted knee and the issues with it have my brain scrambled.  Went to the Dr. last Thursday and will find out this Thursdays appointment if anything is broken or not...well broken or not it has made life interesting.  I don't know why it takes so long to get anything done anymore in the private medical system we have here in the USA.  Used to I would walk into an ER and things went liked greased lightening and you would go home fixed.  Now you sit and wait, wait, and wait some more.  I was told if I needed a cast I would get one this Thursday...nope you are wrong there boyo!  If it was broken you should have casted it 4 weeks ago when I fell and not left me limping and gimping all this time.

Okay!!! don't bitching now.  Hope everyone has a great week and I promise to be back next week!!

  1. Sorry about your knee. Hope you get it sorted soon. I understand what you mean about too much, unorganised stuff. It's been sort of nice moving to my crafting room but I did not realise just how much stuff I had. Sometimes I had duplicates as I couldn't find what I needed. Sigh. Hope it works out.

Sorry to hear about your knee and the lack of successful treatment for it.....fingers crossed it gets sorted soon for you. Good luck with the organising of your crafty stash.....I need to have everything where I can find it cos I have no spare time for looking for things lol

  6. What a wonderful card for your daughter! I'm afraid your work space sounds just like mine, loads of stuff but can't remember what I've got or where it is! I scrolled down to your previous post and I really like the candle box. You have given me an idea for future presents.

  7. Your card is beautiful and sorry your leg is giving you such issues and some doctors seem to be away on lunch when your talking to them cast your leg after 4 weeks that sounds like utter craziness. I have a small space so I found that packaging takes up a lot more of the space then you realizes good luck with the sort ,I found just labeling the back side of things with a little sticker made it easy to remember and somethings I don't think it matters to much

  9. Happy WOYWW. Sorry to hear that you are struggling with your knee. Hope it is sorted soon. I used to have the same problem with my craft room - but have had several big decluttering sessions, and donated/sold a lot of stash. Still seem to have enough to last me my lifetime! Ali x #37

  10. Late or not, I always enjoy your humor. I feel for you and your knee. I hope you don't have to have a knee replacement.

Love the card you made for your daughter and love the idea of calling when it's time for cake. CUTE!!

I have decided to stay on top of organizing this year, and will be documenting it each week, too. I want to be able to put things away and not just throw them in on top of other messes. So, if you have some good ideas, let me know. I remember you had a program at one time created by your (??? memory isn't what it used to be) SIL?

  13. Hope things are not broken - four weeks ago!!!
I know the feeling with the "mess" and finding supplies only too clearly. When I get home I think the first thing I need to do is declutter.

  15. Lovely card .... you can never go wrong with such gorgeous papers. Best of luck with the resolve to use all your stuff. We do tend to buy lots and it looks like you have started the year off with a bang.

  16. What a stunning card - the papers you used are gorgeous and I love the flowers - they match perfectly. I do hope you get your knee sorted out soon - it's very tiring living with pain, and you must be feeling so frustrated with the system. Have a good week and thanks so much for stopping by mine earlier,

  17. Hi Vickie, I had to enlarge your photo so I could drool over all your lovely crafting stuff. Also swooned over Robert Pattinson:)

Hope you don't have a break. As you said if it is broken it should have had a cast long before now.

    Beautiful card for your daughter.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

  18. What a beautiful birthday card! Your desk looks very busy. When mine gets like yours I start to misplace things and sometimes they wind up in my trash. I have to have some clean space to work in or it's a no go for me. I always love seeing all the goodies you have. Sorry to be so late. Glenda #33

  20. Sorry to hear about your knee. Hope it recovers soon. Oh I know the feeling of 'too much stuff' but really it's about reorganising and storage. Thanks for your visit. I've always had Copics, while they are more expensive they are refillable and for me, they are my favs. I bought the SN pens to see if I could get on with them but found them not to be as good as Copics and I didn't get the results I get with Copics. So I sold SN pens and have carried on increasing my Copic collection! Take care Zo xx 37

  21. Sounds like a craft room re-jig is in order - de-clutter, reorganise and label. It is a hard task (actually it's not hard, just time consuming) but I felt so much freer and inspired when I had finished.

  23. Beautiful birthday card. I think we all have the same problem with creativity when our workspace gets a little untidy. I try to tidy up each time (it doesn't happen all the time) and that helps me.

  24. Oh wow Vickie what a stunning card! I adore the bright colours, and the sentiment is just perfect. I so get where you are coming from about the organisation - thank you for your visit and your nice comment - you can see how well I'm getting on with mine lol!! You are right, and especially with conditions like ME and FM, the only way is small steps, to get things done. Trying to do everything all at once is too overwhelming and just leaves us exhausted and demoralised. I often break jobs down into small chunks and am amazed at how much more I can achieve that way. My ME has pretty well plateaued out these days and I just live with it - it doesn't seem to be getting any worse, but neither is it improving either. It all got rather overshadowed by the cancer last year. I just hop in my wheelchair when out and about and hardly think about it these days!! I got the cancer all clear after the chemo finished in October and I had my CT scan. I'm still suffering some after-effects from the chemo which may be permanent but only time will tell.

    Happpy belated WOYWW,

  26. I'm not at all late getting here, me. No. Absolutely on time. Today is still Wednesday if I say it is, right? Hehehe

Sorry to hear about your poorly knee. Sounds a bit like you've been visiting the NHS!

  27. Thanks so much for stopping by earlier in the week. Just catching up on comments a little later than usual! See, we all have those 'why does everything take so long?' moments! Don't be too hard on yourself while you are recovering!

A little creative clutter is expected, but if it's becoming overwhelming have a clear-out. I found that I appreciated what I had a lot more once I had shifted everything I didn't need or use!

    1. I am so glad to see your WOYWW entries again. I have missed them. Facebook has a group, I think the name is Get Organized 2011 (don't ask about the old year, Facebook rules). Tiffany has some great organizational advice. Many of us are long-time members: meaning that we haven't managed to get everything completely organized yet. It is an on-going battle for most of us. I don't have a blog, so I can't enter WOYWW, but I love to visit every Wednesday, although I may not leave comments at all sites. Sorry about your knee. I know what it is like to hobble around.

  28. I have to be ruthless about what goes on my desk - and what stays off. I actually spent hours thinking about how I work best - and made a checklist of what really must be on my desk. Maybe you could too?!
