WOYWW #185

Busy week and I am still behind and now wishing I was back on a leisurely boat cruise!  NOT!  If you would like to see photos of the cruise check them out here!  I am glad to be home and enjoying the day!  Heather and Michael are moving into their new home and I have been a little help to them but not as much as I wish I could be.  They are concerned I will over do and end up having a flareup  so I cat wrangle to keep cats in the house and help move lighter things about.

My desk this week is no different then last week.  Haven't done a blasted thing towards making anything creative.  It has become the depository for all sorts of bits and pieces.  Latest that my mail lady brought me is a case with magnetic sheets that I am hoping to organize my Spellbinders and thinner metal dies into.  Check back later and I will show you what I have done....maybe in a couple weeks.

Here is the last project I completed on my desk before my trip.  My button fairy/Christmas angels.  I just realized they are really monochromatic but hey...I like them!
Button Fairy Christmas Angels made using buttons, petaloo flowers, and the Tim Holtz dress form die and wings dies.

Want to see more desks that have better things to look at?  Julia's blog Stamping Ground is the springboard for all the blog snoops...

Okay that's it for me! I know I am a little later then I usually am posting but hey...better late to the dance then not at all!   I am going to go make another cup of coffee and a bowl of oatmeal and come back and look through a few blogs.

Hope everyone has a safe and uneventful holiday.  Happy Christmas, Happy Hanukkah,  Merry Yule!
Happy Holidays!

  1. Hey, those fairies are really cute.
I have made a couple of storage books for the dies using the magnetic stuff, they work really well and are not too difficult or time consuming

  22. Hey, Vickie! Thanks for coming by the Playhouse! I've come to return the flavor and I just enjoyed several minutes on a Carnival cruise from New Orleans to the Cary Bean!! That was fun, thanks for the photo shares! It's lovely that you and your daughter did this. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and all the best in the New Year with no major flare-ups!! Darnell

  23. Glad you had such a good time on your cruise. Your fairy-angels are very colourful - well done!

Thanks for your visit, and I'm glad you like my hubby's little bear. His paws are now mended as best I could do it, and I want to add some little red patches too. His clothes are in the wash and he looks very vulnerable in his naked state!!

Hope you have a great time over Christmas, and that we all manage to survive it without overdoing things and making ourselves sick!

    Happy belated WOYWW,

  24. Hi vicky
if you wanted the cute polar bear die on my desk this week I got it from memory box (love their dies) they also make a matching wooden stamp... although I thought it was abit expensive I brought it anyway. The die is quite small and I wish I had brought the bigger size.
    have a great Christmas

  25. Hi Vickie,

Thanka for dropping and for your kind comment re my backgrounds. Your cruise sounds great!
And I think wrangling or herding cats could almost be a full time job?

  27. Haha, better late than never, so true! :) And, since I know you've a Dollar Tree nearby somewhere surely, I'll tell you about the magnetic sheets they have there, for a buck! They are pretty big and meant to cover heating/ac vents, but I bought some and sure enough the metal dies stick really well to them, so if you didn't get enough magnetic sheets in your new set it might be cheaper to look there to make up the difference. :) Anyways, thanks for stopping by and leaving me a comment already, I might have gotten my post earlier than you but I am certainly making up in slowness on getting around to commenting! Hugs and stay warm this next week! Deeyll #33

  29. Hi Vickie! Loved the pictures of your cruise. My favorite was the towel creature! How amazing is that! I've only been to a cruise once and it was a local one. I did spend a lot of time in the library! But the food was fabulous! Sorry to hear you had issues with the service.Your button fairies are wonderful! A blessed Christmas to you and your loved ones. May you have the choicest gifts of the season- love, joy, hope and peace beyond understanding. AND good health! See you in the next round of WOYWWs in 2013! Patsy from
