WOYWW #143

I have had a couple of questions regarding the blog candy and confusion when it will close so....I am shutting down the blog candy at midnight, PST, March 1st and announce the winners the next day. This is only a day later than I had first said and I am sorry if there was some confusion and don't want anyone to feel left out so it is open another 24 hours so you can get your name in the pot. I have had a remarkable turnout on the comments and followers so thought that I would add an additional prize that is open to WOYWW members only. So what is WOYWW? It is a group of snoopy artists/crafters that blog hop on Wednesday all over the world to see what everyone is doing! Visit Stamping Ground the home of Julia the founder of WOYWW and check it out!

Now to my desk...still nothing to show...mojo is still gone walkabout and I have been unblocking stamps, cleaning out drawers, reordering the cabinets and hopefully will come across something that stimulates my creativity again. I have never had this problem since I got into paper arts and alterations so it is a concern.

This is a picture of the drawers on the left side of my desk. I was reorganizing the stickles, liquid pearls, stains etc into color groups. Decided since I was reorganizing to have a go at the desk drawers also...sad huh!

Guess that is it for me. Not very creative with my blogging either! Good luck on the drawing tomorrow!

  2. I do exactly the same thing when my mojo takes a leave of absence... give the stash a good look through and tidy up and it soon turns up again!!

  4. re-organising is good for the soul...I do it quite a lot. Usually when I can't see what I want and it takes too long to find it...that is what gets me going. though sadly it only lasts a while till it all piles up on my desk again...

  8. I reckon you'll find your mojo hiding in one of those drawers! There isn't anything like a good sort out to uncover forgotten goodies. Happy Wednesday to you, enjoy this week's snoop of oh so creative places & take care. Zo xx 83

  9. Your creativity is just recharging your batteries and look at all the tidiness it is producing before it's next burst. Have a good week,

  14. Cleaning and tidying is an ideal way to free-up your mojo (but only if it is in your craft room - rest of house just doesn't work). Liking your drawers - you could put discs of colour on the lids of your stains so that you can see the colour - may inspire you to get them out and find that missing mojo.

  15. Know just what you mean with the MoJo issues...Just beginning to get back in the swing after a good long vacation from creativity! Hang in there. Love the drawers and all the goodies inside!

  16. Isn't it always the case, you begin tidying one place and it leads to another ... and another ... and another.
Love how organised your drawers seem to be.
Good luck with your candy and thanks for the extra for the WOYWW'ers.
Hugs and thanks for your visit to me, Neet #19 xx

  17. Stop looking for your mojo. Copy someone elses ideas, and then all of a sudden you'll start making changes to it. Certainly works when I lose my purse, I start using OH's money, and then mine just turns.

  18. Love your desk, it is full of lovely stuff. HOpe your mojo returns soon. :)

  19. I think just having a clearout can often spark your mojo to return ... that has worked for me in the past and if it doesn't then at least you have a wonderfully tidy workspace and cupboards. Hope your mojo does return soon ... I hate it when mine goes walkabout. Happy WOYWWing. Debbie #89

  21. When I tidy up I find lots of things I forgot I had and that usually inspires me to do something creative.

  22. I hope your mojo comes back soon. Have you ever heard of Julia Cameron's "The artists way", she suggests something like a meeting with your creativity each week. That can be watching a dvd or visiting a museum or just a walk in the woods, whatever you like to do... and then see how it inspires you. Keeping my fingers crossed that your mojo is back soon. Hugs, sparcstation

  23. My mojo returns when I sort my room...With concussion problems, I think I can't overtax my brain by making it remember just what i have and where it is in my room.
So a good organization system and logs of labels, help me tremendously.

  24. Hiya Vicky! We all get the Mojo leaving us now and again, but have no fear make the best of the lull to have a sort out! Cos once it comes back there will be no time to tidy!

  25. At least your missing mojo has enabled you to do some tidying and re-organising - that's a good thing right!

How about joining in with the decorate a torso swap over on flickr (link is on my woyww post). When my mojo goes walkabout, I just have to force myself into a swap and hey presto it returns (well, sometimes anyway - lol).

Thanks for already coming to see my desk :)

  26. Is that a TV remote on your craft desk, first off . . . bin that. re organising is good for finding MOJO, that and chocolate! LOL sorting through all that lovely stash with a bar of good dark in your hand should work wonders.
    thanks for sharing

  30. Usually sorting through stuff and making it tidy strikes my interest into making something. Sometimes you just have to wait it out though. Your drawers look very organized. It will be all the more easier to play once your mojo does come back!

  31. Maybe you need to mess the desk up and that will bring your mojo back :) Nothing like mess to get the creative juices flowing!!
    Have a great week.

  32. I do hope your mojo comes back soon from where ever it has strayed. I know the feeling so well and that is why I moved to altering my drawers, knitting and re learning needlepoint ...all at the same time ..A change is as good as a rest it is said ...and I am having a lot of chilled enjoyment.

  33. Serious tidying and sorting will eventually help find your mojo. It's there somewhere, don't stress. Revisit art books or magazines, surf the web, it's bound to come back sooner or later. And you will be so organised when it does. Happy WOYWW!

  34. Sometimes we just need the break! But I seem to be cleaning out and rearranging more than ever before and not just in my crafty area. I never knew I could create so many unfinished messes. Maybe when I was working I would just overlook it and never thought much of it.
I spotted a remote!! Hope the weathers nice to you and Enjoy WOYWW

  35. Awww sorry your mojo is missing, i always start organising and tidying up when my mojo is missing another way i get mojo going again is to think of someone who i love (doesn't matter who) and then i create something just for them, ready for birthday or Christmas or a just because card, it sometimes works and of course snooping round everyone's spaces helps too. I missed WOYWW last week so was reading last weeks post too, love your finger nails and your sisters book is wonderful. Hope your mojo returns real soon Take care Lou x

  38. Maybe you need some help kickstarting your mojo.

How about taking a look again at my blog, maybe at that bracelet or earrings, and coming up with a card design that would go with it if it was being sent as a gift?

There - the gauntlet has been well and truly thrown down!

  39. That there Mojo has a lot to answer for. He left me right when I needed him for inspiration to make trade show samples with my pal. Hope yours returns real quick.

  40. Oh, I do want to come and play!! I was down with the flu Monday - Wednesday so didn't link up to WOYWW. Since I feel decent this evening I decided to drop in on a few folks. Your desk looks very inviting!!

  41. Well there's nothing like a good old tidy-up to make you feel all warm, fuzzy - and smug! I would love to come and "help" you tidy up - all those stickles, all those inks and paints and stamps and paper and....ooooooo squeal!!
You know, sometimes I have a "No Mojo" period, where I have no inspiration or ideas. I find that worrying about it just makes me worse. When I go off and do other stuff, I come back feeling more positive and often find it easier to get started again. Sometimes it's helpful to use a sketch or scrap-lift, to get my ideas going again - often I will come up with lots of my own ideas, once all the stash is spread over the desk!
Good luck with that! Let us know how you get on. :-)

  42. Another busy bee - with the tidy up bug!!! Not me...

  43. Everyone is in the tidying up mode at the moment. You are doing well. xx Maggie #9

PS Just realise that you still have your Word Verification turned on. Since Blogger changed it, it has become ten times harder and lengthier for us folks with ageing eyes to get through it. It is so fuzzy. In fact, the comments Moderation feature gives you more protection from spammers and unpleasant comments. I have seen more and more people saying they will no longer leave comments if they are faced with Word Verification. Just a thought.
