WOYWW #141

Wednesday again! Oh my! I look forward to WOYWW but wish we could slow time down just a little bit! I have been busy in my room but I am going to stop a while and pick up and put away it is so messy and crowded up right now! I looked around and realized even the cats were having issues as to where they could lay their poor tired heads today! WOYWW is a group of people from around the world that share a little bit of their world every Wednesday. Visit Julia's blog Stamping Ground and check it out!

This is my messy desk today. I am currently sorting stamps and putting them back on the right rings and in the right boxes. IF I had done that all along I would be showing you the mess of paints I have to find some way to store for easier access. They are scattered on the floor at my feet and I almost squished one open earlier tonight so... I have bottles and bottles in a rack but recently had to purchase a higher quality/pigmented paint for a class I am taking online. Any suggestions on how to store 4-8oz tubes rather then the 2 oz bottles in my old paint rack?

I just finished this 6"x6" Winter Themed wall hanging for a swap on OWSE and will be mailing it off tomorrow to its rightful owner. I enjoy swapping and exchanging tags, bags, cards, ATC's etc cause I always learn something with every swap I get involved in.

Okay that's it for me today because I want to get out and look around the other blogs and see what I can snoop into. I didn't make it to half the bloggers last week but hopefully I will get to more this week. It has grown to so many participants(AwEsOmE!!) that it is almost impossible to see everyone in a day or two and my dear rear gets tired just sitting on the computer!

Don't forget the blog candy I have out there for grabs! Once again every comment on every post counts as a chance in the drawing and it is open to only followers so please make sure you are a follower so your comment will count towards the drawing. This is really fun so far for me and I am enjoying reading everyones posts each week. I am up to 3 gifts so far and everyone is eligible cause I will ship overseas too!

  1. Hi - am still in awe of your lovely ribbon selection and the way you have them stored. One question, how do you stop them unravelling?
That's a lovely LO you have done, I have one from CHA that I did (think it is on my blog today) and not a clue where to put it or what to do with it. What do you do with a 12 x 12 when you have no wall space?
Don't forget my blog candy is being drawn tonight, can't remember whether you entered or not (jet lag still claiming my brain - what brain?) Hugs, Neet 29

    1. I love my ribbon accessible. The ones I don't use as often I put the cellophane strip back around them and tape it down. Some of the others I cut slits in the side of the roll and pull a bit of ribbon through to hold it tight so it won't unravel. Those I use a lot just hang free!

  2. Love your storage ideas! Such a good work space my dear!
I always seem to have stuff lying about to get dumped into the floor. My husband says "Just how many stamps do you need anyway!" He doesn't have a clue!

  5. You have so many ribbons, don't think I have seen that many outside of a shop before. The rack makes them very easy to use I'm sure.
    Love your winter wall hanging.
Have a great week, trying to visit a heap of people in a small amount of time.

The winter wall hanging is fabulous! Lovely crackling on the snowman!
And as for storing the paints, I am afraid I am not the one to ask as I have all my paints (craft, artist acrylic, tubes, bottles and jars) all thrown in a wooden crate that I have to dig thru to find anything, lol!
Thanks for dropping by my blog and leaving a lovely comment!

  24. That snowman spread is adorable. I don't have any tube paint. All mine is either in large jars or those little craft jars. And I keep those on their sides, in a container, but not one like yours. I guess that's why I am not buying anything this year, except glue and gesso, which I must brave the snow today to buy. Happy WOYWW from #3, but you know cause you were there already.

  37. Vickie, your desk looks great, and I love the rows of colourful ribbons above! I've got my tubes of acrylics in one box that I can rummage through, and the pots of fluid acrylics are in another box, with spodges of their respective colours on the lids so I can easily identify them. I also have several small tins of emulsion paint stored the same way, and a box of acrylic gel mediums. The brushes are upright in an old Smash instant mashed potato tube. So far no tubes on the floor squished by my Size Fives, thank goodness! What a nightmare... My mixed media and art storage is a mess, though - just piles of boxes on my old computer desk. I hate it, and really want something better for it all!

Thanks for popping over to my blog this week - I'm glad you liked the Valentine's card I made for my hubby! I had such fun doing it.

Funny, but I was sure I'd signed up to follow your blog but can't find it in my list. I'm doing it now - not just because of your blog candy but because I want to!!

  43. Ooh Nurse, I have no suggestions for your paints, but I love the idea of new storage to be found...almost as much of a storage junkie as I am about the stash! LOVE your swap piece, you are so clever. I made it round everyone last week, but am already 12 hours behind this week, so don't hold out a lotta hope, but the point is to savour and enjoy, huh!

  45. Oo, hello! I just dropped by from Socks and Scrapbooks' blog, because I read your comment there and was nosey...
I'm glad I came by - you have been making some awesome projects and I have really enjoyed reading through your recent posts! I love the Valentine bucket - what a clever project - and the "chunky" ATC's are good fun and rather beautiful. I also like the wall hanging you have posted this time.
Your ribbon hangers - above your desk - are very cool. How did you make them, I wonder?
Anyway, I just wanted to say Hi and that I'm your latest "follower" now!

  47. I always enjoy visiting your desk and seeing all the ribbon right there for the using. It makes me sort of envious, but at the same time short of hiring two cabana boys to stand in my living room and hold dowel rods, I've no way to mount such a thing. Great winter wall hanging! It depicts the cold of winter but the warm of heart very well.

  48. Just been looking back at your chunky ATC 's. Definitely must have a go at making one of those. I just store my tubes of paint in a plastic tub but I only have a few. Thanks for a chance of your candy. Hugs Mrs A. #165

  51. I store all of my paints in a clear plastic tub...when its time to paint, I spend a few min digging around for the colors I want and put them on the table, when I am done I toss all the paint back in the tub. I've used this system for years now and it works really well for me.

    ReplyDelete
  52. oh, you'll have to make them their own shelf! Squash them in somewhere! or just put them in a large useful box.My bigger paints are in a lidded tub under my bench, as I don't get them out that often. Have a very Crafty Week,

  61. You've been busy! That is a lot of craftiness :D. I have a set of "drawers" (basically a cubby tower with cloth drawer) which I love for storing things like tubes of paint. The drawers are about 6" cubed and just the right size for irregular shapes. I got mine at Ollies (overstock store).

Thought I was a subscriber lol, well I am now. Your wall hanging is fabulous. It will have pride of place where ever it goes.
