WOYWW #115

This is my desk this week. Thought I would share a wider view and then an up close for you to get a peak of what I am working on. I had a couple people ask me if I ever used any of my ribbon cause they can see the shine from the outer wrap on the spools hanging on the wall. Those are the new/extra spools I bought when they were on sale.(I am a huge bargain hunter and why buy one when two will be a better deal! Anyone relate?) When I had the idea to use curtain rods to organize the ribbon I had so many ribbons spools and there wasn't enough space for all of them so I decided to hang the full ones and keep the partially used ones in a box under the desk. As you can see I am starting to break into some of them now.
My desk is really trashed out towards the end of a project because I never seem to be able to stop long enough to get things put up. I like having everything close at hand and being able to just reach out and grab when I needed something. I had also hoped that it would help me to put things back but...no dice.
I have been working on a 12"x12" canvas using mostly Tim Holtz products for a class I was asked to do at WLS. I am not a floral type person and it has been a real struggle for me to step out of my comfort zone and try to do what I call 'girly' stuff. I can kind of, sort of, maybe combine a little grunge in with it and get it done but...not my forte! I am currently working on a bead fob to hang on the fob chain on the right.

This week has flown and it seems like I didn't get everything done that I wanted to do but I did get around to all the desks this week!! I really enjoy WOYWW and I am willing to give up a little housework to see what everyone else in cyber world is doing in the arts/crafts world. If you would like to see what I am talking about visit Julia's blog, Stamping Ground, she is the Queen Bee and leads this group in all sorts of fun things!

Okay, I am off to check out the other blogs. I am so addicted and need my fix of WOYWW! Check back tomorrow and I will have a couple finished projects up for you to view.

  4. Did you say bargain? Just today I admitted on my blog to buying 3 of something I didn't really need, but they were cheap and cheerful, so I got an extra 2! I have also just re-organized my ribbon and I thought I had a lot till I saw this post of yours! Happy WOWYWW!

  13. Well, considering you don’t do girly stuff as you call it, you’ve done a great job with those flowers.
The canvas is looking stunning and I love the colours and the way you’ve arranged the flowers.

  14. Oh yes, I'm a ribbon hoarder myself, why buy three when you can have ten!! That's an incredibly busy desk and overall work area, does it ever overwhelm you? I think I might be stuck deciding what to choose from!

  20. Love your space and your storage methods ...when I last had a sort I too thought that, if things had homes I'd put them away ...who was I kidding lol. Ireally must not go out on a Wednesday ...throws me out and I get so behind with woywwing.
btw ...I love that ticket card below.
Re school ...England and Scotland are very different and I am just getting to grips with the rules in Scotland. They have to spend atleast one year in nursery(4-5) but most try for two(as soon as they can get a place after 3) and even three years if there is some problem (like Robbie) ...but only half days. They can go into primary one the Sept after their 5th birthday (which most do)but if they are in the younger half they are offered that extra year in nursery to help them, especially if the teachers feel it would be helpful ...I think thats how it works lol
